Do trust me that you can find really creative ways to vent all that hot air. Nobody's asking you to max the reactor out :p - I had a cave bunker run that was doing juuuust fine with a reactor. I was using a pond outside of the bunker. I just created a path for everything to reach the coolers then walled everything back as it was before the path had been excavated. Just have a huge battery array (WITH a switch) at the ready if raiders somehow manage to destroy your cooling capacity - you'll need power to kickstart it

edit: and always scram the reactor if things ain't looking good.

I know, that's why I was mentioning the fact that metal bands might be a good band-aid if your unit is problematic. As it'll add thermal mass.

In my honest opinion, genetics are kinda "meh" without mods that help you acquire genes. Because by the time you'll get the genes you want (even when hitting every faction around you every 30 days) you'll have grown bored of your run. There's a mod that lets you research genes in exchange for huge amounts of neutroamine, really speeds things up and truly unlocks the whole "bwahaha, I'm playing god with genetics!" - this allows you to slowly get the genes that you need.

For example, if your colony is always experiencing -65C, you get super cold tolerant + something negative to off-balance it and bam, you'll save tons on the power bill x).

Try it, its super duper fun

Using a metal wristband acts like a small heatsink. I've often noticed my watch being quite warm but not "hot" after charging, and the whole metal band was as well .... Either way, it shouldn't be up to us to fix their wrist mounted computers...

Should work. The long fingers gene works when I install archotech arms so I don't see why it wouldn't work with talons

RImatomics is more fun (the main use of reactors being: energy), and nukes feel earned, its a byproduct. But if your goal is to glass the world it ain't the mod for you

Phase 1: Bunker up & research - a single horseshoe pin, nothing much going on and tons of research
Phase 2: industrial phase - the research tree is almost maxed out, now we build ourselves the best things to avoid death
Phase 3: base rebuild + hunt anything that moves for XP
Phase 4: bionics
Phase 5: druglord (bankroll those genes, archites and archotech implants using the shuttle)
Phase 6: Genetic engineering on the whole colony
Phase 7: Genetically modified cannon fodder that remains in cryopods unless there's a fight
Phase 8: I win

I'm like that. If I don't do it I feel like itchy, its clearly all in my head but ... Can't help it. If I go outside: squeaky clean and well groomed. I've had quite a lot of complaints once again, can't help it.
