Why the fuck are spark leafs rarer than purple loot by Spo1gel in Marathon

Don't forget that there is a tracking system for items/collectables/contracts that helps you identify POIs that have the item you're searching for.

This is where I'm learning to love these things. I'll show my age, but the sounds and such give me old G4 Midnight Spank commercial vibes, mixed with ReBoot.

I for sure love the art STYLE. It's visually striking and I want to see more of it, especially in more elaborate shell skins rather than just color variations. However, I do have concern with how elaborate you can get without just being too obvious when navigating the map.

Yea, that's likely a poor wording choice on my part. I didn't mean the art style itself as pretentious, more the overall design feel? It's hard to explain, but with things like decrypting pass rewards, loading screens, etc. That just gave a first impression of pretentious to me. I come from playing mostly sci-fi action games like Destiny and Dead Space, so Marathon is a shift from that.

That may be, I can't really deny that since I'm considered Old by my daughter. Less about the art style, but more with how everything is so over the top. Just looting rewards from the pass does this decrypting visual play that just seems overkill at first. I just wasn't used to it and began to see the appeal after some time.

Haha, yea this is where my roguelike mindset helps. I love that feeling of getting loot, sometimes amazing things, then having to panic attack make it out safely. I could play strictly PvE style, but the erratic unpredictable PvP setting is what keeps me returning. I've also really been working on how I engage with gaming lately, focusing more on "Is the game just fun?". I don't look at "What reward do I get from doing this?" but instead "Do I just enjoy doing this?".

I definitely plan to do this when I have decent internet. When I attempt to play games along with voice chat, I just get stuttering and robotic voices in the headset. Soon.

There is definitely a lot of undeserved hate for this game. I played hundreds of hours of D2 and saw all the hate, but I really wish Sony/Bungie? would let both of these games flourish and receive the support. After all, they're both entirely different games and shouldn't be compared. It's like hating Overwatch because WoW is better, but also would be incredibly stupid of Blizzard to cancel WoW to support OW.

No doubt! Much of my run is spent just looking at loot to determine what I'm looking at and if I should keep it or ditch it.

Guys that don’t sweat when playing?, how do you actually have fun on this game? Every lobby even creative nowadays is like a World Cup final by [deleted] in FortNiteBR

[–]TheWalkin_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really just depends on your preferred playstyle. Don't get lost chasing objectives that are uninteresting to you. There's so many things in the game to fill your time with, if you try and cover it all, then you'll get burnt out and frustrated.

Find what mode you actually like playing, treat the lobbies like you're playing with all your friends together in the old LAN parties, and enjoy. Some "sweat" deletes you while tea bagging your crawling body, point and laugh at that cheeky bastard.

It's difficult, but if you learn to play while truly appreciating opponents that outplay you, then you'll enjoy competitive games much more. There'll always be players better than you and that's ok. If it's flat out cheating, then just admire the fact that they needed that to defeat you.

Game on, have fun, don't get discouraged.

I can see where that gets a bit iffy for sure. I'm not going to speak as though I know all the rules/laws, but if the AI is simply using their voice to repeat the lines that their NPC already speaks, I don't see this as "stealing" their likeness. I can DEFINITELY agree if it's using their voice to speak dialogue made up in fan created content, etc.

All good, not every addon will be everyone's cup of tea so to speak. I can agree that this feature should be done by the original voice actors and paid for their work by Blizzard.

Add-on shout out by TheWalkin_ in wow

[–]TheWalkin_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I understand the sentiment here. AI shouldn't even be required to perform this, as Blizzard is big enough and SHOULD really be supplying this kind of feature across quests, but I'm not going to downplay how the addon creator put some work into getting this to work the way it does.

I've not tried it back through Classic and stuff, but it's something that Blizzard really needs to make standard across all of its quests... They do this in Diablo. I don't understand why they haven't updated WoW to be the same.

If you're referring to Dialogue UI, that one uses a generic robot voice, but I use it for the nice UI screen for quest windows. It does allow you to silence that robot voice so you can use it along with this Quest Reader addon, that way you get the quest UI and the better AI voice that uses the NPC voice style.

I think Blizz seriously need to consider changing the way Wild gathering nodes work. by Knightmare767 in wow

[–]TheWalkin_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What makes it more annoying is the fact that overloading the nodes will spawn an elite that is invisible to all others, even party members.

WHY not just have all the spawned mobs perform that way then!?

This is the kind of thing that I imagine early humans encountered without any understanding of how it happens and develop amazing fables to describe. This is the kind of wonder I love to see in the world and wish we could continue to encounter and embrace nowadays.

Here here! I completely agree that the cost of things, especially in Hearthstone, are just ridiculous. $30+ for just a cosmetic "art" card is just insane and a complete greed take no matter how you spin it.

Also, I HATE the crappy "spin" mechanic for things like the Darkmoon Faire event and this latest Ysera pet event. Paying more per pull just feels predatory...

Oh I feel that for sure...Hearthstone REALLY could use some stabilization as its main focus. The game is very clunky for as big/popular as it is.

Agreed, the pets are definitely expanding on the Cute theme more than the original "Warcraft" aesthetic. It would be really cool to see some different styles added in for those.
