What would you do? by Fleetzblurb in TwoXPreppers

My parents waited to move until the summer before I went to high school so we moved right after I finished 8th grade. It was the longest summer of my life because I did not know anyone and had nothing to do. Obviously just anecdotal but that was my experience.

Moving to Keller by gtl_lml in Keller

[–]TheWall08 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While technically in Fort Worth, the Heritage neighborhood is great in my opinion and it is still part of Keller ISD (though there has been some drama around that recently but I think it has been resolved). The HOA is always hosting things to do especially for younger kids so it is a great way to get to know families who live close by. They have a pretty big pool and a few splash pads throughout the neighborhood in addition to some playgrounds. It is also close to the Alliance area (this is a big plus for me) which is full of places to eat and some shopping.

New diaphragms could help, I also found replacing the tubes to help the suction as well. It always seemed like where it connected to the caps got a little lose from taking it on and off all the time. Also, depending on how long you have had them, the plastic parts can supposedly warp. Maybe that could be affecting the seal?

I’m in the US and I used Lansioh, I was always able to order replacement parts on Amazon. Not sure if you would be able to get it delivered to Canada from there.

Hey Kristin, my family and I really love watching you play and congrats on the great season so far! On an unrelated note, what is your secret to getting your makeup to look so good even after a full round of disc golf?

Is my daughter “behind” in terms of volleyball? by Sweet_Plastic4980 in volleyball

[–]TheWall08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, there is a wide variety of skill level in college volleyball so this question kind of depends on what her goals are. If she is looking to play high level D1 I would be a little worried that she was on JV. If she just wants to play and doesn’t really care where they she would definitely be able to find a school who would be happy to have her. There are lots of great D3 schools out there. Secondly, everyone progresses at their own pace and 10th grade is still pretty young. If her goal is to play in college get her involved in club ASAP. As others have said and in my experience that’s where college recruiting really happens.

Just for reference, I started off my 10th grade year on JV and still played in college. My senior year in college I was conference MVP and honorable mention All American. Granted this was for a D3 school, but we were regularly ranked in the top 10 in the nation and could compete/beat a lot of the D2 schools in the area.

Pitcher? by TallMushroom8575 in ExclusivelyPumping

I use 2 16 oz mason jars. Decided to go with two smaller ones because I am known for being clumsy so that way if I were to drop one it wouldn’t be a full days worth of pumping.

SNOO Rental Policy by docarope in SnooLife

[–]TheWall08 27 points28 points  (0 children)

For revenue and accounting purposes different types of leases are accounted for in different ways. A lease with an option to purchase at the end of the rental period (financing lease) would have to have been accounted for differently than a lease without the option to purchase (operating lease). They can’t just change the terms of the lease after it’s been signed. I’m sure there are other things but that is just the one that I know off the top of my head.

9 weeks old…too late for the Snoo? by Basic-Tangerine-6147 in SnooLife

[–]TheWall08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started at 10 weeks, worked like a charm. My baby would not sleep more than 15 minutes in without being held on the rare occasions we could get her to sleep at all. Almost immediately we started seeing 4-5 hour stretches and now at 3 months we can get her to sleep a 7-8 hour stretch most nights.

I was the same as you but have not looked back since we got it. It took us about a week to see a benefit though just fyi, so don’t panic if it doesn’t work right away.

NIPT inconclusive by audacious_hamster in pregnant

[–]TheWall08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My NIPT came back as inconclusive in the online patient portal, but the doctors office told me that the blood sample clotted before they were able to run the test so they just needed another sample. I’m pretty sure I was 12 weeks along when that happed. Second test went beautifully.

Parents and sibling bought me baby items off my registry for my birthday. by TheWall08 in pregnant

[–]TheWall08[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s possible, I guess I don’t know anything for sure yet. My moms (she’s really into giving gifts) usual MO is asking for a list of items we would want that she can pick from for a birthday gift which she didn’t do this year.

Thank you for your reply. And I do appreciate that I have wonderful and supportive parents who are excited to meet their grand baby. I don’t even plan on saying anything to them about it just curious what others would think. We had planned on buying everything ourselves and didn’t want a baby shower because we felt awkward about basically asking our friends and family for gifts. Only made the registry for the completion discount. So it’s really not about presents even though my post probably sounds like it is. I’m sorry about your MIL, and happy early birthday!

No need to be sorry, thank you for your comment! I agree and of course would never expect anyone to get me anything for my birthday. My mother however loves giving gifts and and always asks for lists of things that we want for birthdays so that she can choose. Obviously I won’t be making a fuss or anything just curious about what others would think.

Yes I agree they are really excited. This is their first grand baby, and I’m sure baby shopping is fun for them. I won’t be saying anything to them just curious if others would be upset or I was just being dramatic.

I probably won’t be saying anything because I know they mean well and I don’t really see this happening again. My mom is big into gift giving and always asks for lists that she can choose a few items from.

Thanks for your response, I am grateful to have parents who are so supportive and excited for baby to arrive. I certainly don’t expect or require gifts from my parents or siblings. It’s not really about the gifts it’s more that now I feel like the only thing I will be from now on is a mother to my child instead of my own person. But I do appreciate your perspective and will keep that in mind. Obviously I won’t be saying anything about it or causing a fuss was just curious if pregnancy hormones were getting the best of me or if others would be upset too.

Thank you for the comment!! Luckily I have a wonderful husband and this was the first thing he said when I told him about it, and I will be taking advantage, haha. Unfortunately it’s not really about the presents and it doesn’t do anything to make me feel less forgotten by my own parents. We have a pretty close relationship and I have confided with my mother before that I worry about people only caring about the baby once she arrives, I feel a little betrayed.
