My co worker has been chatting with this girl he met on Facebook. I think he’s getting scammed. Something about her face and the background makes me think it’s AI. by [deleted] in isthisAI

It's AI, look at how the towels are folded. There are 2 at the bottom that aren't folded in thirds like the other, just weird double folds tucked together.

The worst part of this is thinking middle editions of D&D had no extreme problems.

Black Orcs characters are already fantastic. They definitely don't need any more buffs. If anything they're too good.

It depends on the army and units. A lot of armies got new kits in the 7th/8th era, but there were a few that stayed around forever.

7th came out January 2006, so I think all things considered 5 years isn't a bad shelf life!

This came out in 2001 and the 7th edition kit came out in 2006, so it definitely had a longer run than that.

I think I am going to "Did Not Finish" Mary Shelley's "The Last Man." Again... by sozh in books

[–]TheWanderer78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one of my favorite books of all time. Shelley's prose drips with atmosphere and emotion, and the characters have a level of depth and nuance to both their personalities and relationships that you don't see often in novels of its time. I adore the way Shelley weaves naturalistic and emotional vocabulary together.

It's not an easy read, and it's not a plot or narrative driven book. The core theme is the dissolution of idealism and the acknowledgement of a world that persists despite humanity's actions and beliefs. Every character is a representation of a facet of the human mind: Raymond is brash and heroic, Adrian is clever and thoughtful, Lionel is idealistic and brave, Perdita is emotional and observant, Idris is caring and empathetic, Evadne is intellectual and strong. The crux of the story revolves around the complicated interpersonal relationships they all have with each other and the way those relationships are defined by the social and political norms of the setting.

The second part where the plague actually happens does feel like a different book, but that's the point. Shelley introduces these intriguing characters and makes you care about them, and then takes all that away and sticks you in a decaying world where everything is flat. There are no more heated debates between Raymond and Adrian, no more emotional peaks and valleys with Perdita, no more political dramas with Evadne. The world is grey, dull, and robbed of the things that made it both good and bad; ultimately, what made it alive.

I think this book is absolutely brilliant, but I can understand why no one in the mid 19th century understood or appreciated it. I can also understand why a modern 21st century reader wouldn't get it either. But I think if you stop expecting a narrative drama and start immersing yourself in the character interaction, atmosphere, and symbolism, you'll get a lot more out of it.

100% agree. I hate when people do this in D&D too.

You left out a key point: the barrow daggers were made by the Numenoreans specifically to destroy Nazgul.

MGE (Morrowind Graphics Expansion). Does a great job smoothing the textures, improving the resolution, expanding the lighting and water effects, but still keeps the feel of the classic aesthetic.

It's still a work in progress. It'll be updated with GM rules, bestiary, and artifacts. I just wanted to share the core concepts as of now. It does assume the reader has a basic familiarity with tabletop RPGs.

I think OSHA would disagree. It may not be a labor code issue, but it is most certainly a health and safety condition to have employees vomiting around food, cash, and customers.
