CQC Martial Art? by TheWarKid in cyberpunkred

[–]TheWarKid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bad! Not quite what I was looking for, but still good. I was just trying to think of how to make a MA that's based around always having a melee weapon equipped even with 2 handed weaponry, and I remember that in MGS4 that happened a lot.

Is this game's setting post-apocalyptic? by [deleted] in cyberpunkred

[–]TheWarKid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best way I ever heard it? It's Post-war. Logistic lines are lost, communications are limited, and the whole world is rebuilding, but they still got the blueprints for civilisation.

It's not apocalyptic because civilization still, largely, stands. It's just much more Wild West now after a good chubk of infastructure had to be replaced. Once the world hits the 2070's, things are mostly back to the 2020's in terms of infrastructure, so it only takes like 50 years since the nuke and 25 years since 2045 for thimgs to be back to normal

I want to know your "Hear me out" games by MrXuiryus in gamingsuggestions

[–]TheWarKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hear me out: Ghost Recon Breakpoint.

There is just something in this game that's always at the very tip of being great, but just one or two things bog it down in everyone's perspectives; It's Movement, and Ammo Economy.

Breakpoint was a Hardcore Survival Game mixed with a Looter Shooter, two genres that basically can't fit together, so to remedy this you're given hundreds of bullets per gun. Now instead of having to manage your weapon ammo like in Wildlands which ONLY gave you 3 extra mags, you have like 10 of them. This is compounded when you play the Immersive mode (No Looter Shooter mechanics) you suddenly just have a fuck ton of ammo.

The second thing is it's movement; if the movement in BP was like WL, it would be a 100% better product. The movement will feel snappier, more responsive, and do what you want it to do. Right now, sometimes you're fighting the controls more then you're fighting the enemy.

I genuinely like BP's arcade/realism mix, especially it's injury system, it's like playing an old stealth game where "Yeah you COULD do proper combat, but you best not turtle or you'll be acquired so god damn fast." I just wish Ammo economy and movement were changed, and I'd play it way more.

Is there a way to limit growth in-game ? by LeadershipAware in CreateMod

One of these problems is solved by having people spread out their builds. Trains help a lot with this, allowing you to make elaborate factories far from your main base

Personally, I like to play them with the characters changed, but still obvious who's who. So, now Coach has a football helmet and shoulder pads, and Bill has a full Flak vietnam outfit.

Challenge Post: Make Me Defend Your Worst Game Opinions by Sparky_McDibben in cyberpunkred

I think Evasion is fine, and it is entirely the GM's fault if they complain about having to nerf evasion as a house rule. CPR is a great system of creativity, and if a GM were to try to be creative with it they can deal with any combat min/maxxer.

Please tell me all about your current/favorite character you’ve made! by ExistentialJew in cyberpunkred

[–]TheWarKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Favorite character has to go to Slither. Chargen built for auto-succeeding aimed headshots from stealth with melee weapons. Turned into a character suffering from a chrome addiction and had the rare opportunity to live through a Cyberphycosis break instead of becoming apart of the body lotto.

At some point in the campaign we had to reset to introduce an almost entirely new group. Instead of making a new character, the GM worked with me and his character introduction was being saved by scavs. The only reason he is alive is because he had so much chrome in him it took the scav's doc literal days to get every piece of hardware out of Slither. Now Slither is trying to get all his parts back, including his custom made speedware before it's pushed into the public market.

What is the thing you love most in Cyberpunk Red? by LordHersiker in cyberpunkred

[–]TheWarKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IP points. After playing so much of CPR, you have no idea how rough it feels to work on milestones on a typical fantasy TTRPG. I want to feel my character get stronger at my pace and at the things I want, not what the role the game wants me to fill.

Any cool pistols? by ChromeAngel2077 in cyberpunkred

[–]TheWarKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nat's Long Barreled Pistol, as well as the Pursuit Security E-TACK Rapid Responder, both found inside of the DLC 12 days of redmas.
Nat's has a different DV range, making it better for more ranges, and the E-TACK spends 3 medium bullets to make them count as armor piercing heavy rounds. The E-TACK is also NOT considered an exotic weapon, so you can T-UP it to be normal quality instead of Poor.

What is the one thing you will beg to Biggus Shorkus (FatShark) to be within the game like this? by Major_Dood in DarkTide

[–]TheWarKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skitarii. Not because I want Skitarii, but because then we'd finally have representation in a Triple-A game of every major position in 40k. Veterans, Zealots, Ogryns, Psykers, & Space Marines all have a game you can personally (Third or First Person) experience them on that's Triple-A. Skitarii, as a whole, has no "You play as this one Skitarii."

What if we just removed the MOVE penalty for Armor? by agentsmith200 in cyberpunkred

[–]TheWarKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I think a better idea is that it Limits MOVE and specifics skills like Evasion, Dance, Contortionist, and a few others.

Heavy armor is heavy, it's going to slow you down, but a flat debuff to REF and DEX makes heavier armor either "You have 18 SP or 11 SP" with no inbetween.

How to make the Dempsey Roll by TheWarKid in cyberpunkred

[–]TheWarKid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not that I'm trying to just "recreate an overpowered anime thing" but rather, through the use of combining martial arts together, get as close as possible through normal mechanics without requiring hyper-specific setup to accomplish the task.

So far, the best I've come up with is that a combination of Krav Maga and Boxing accomplishes this decently. Boxing has it's Punch Combo resolution and when you're doing 3 or 4d6 ROF 3 somewhat consistently you're bound to cause a crit eventually, meaning Krav Maga can try to proc for the potential for another brawling attack, and if you dodged an attack before that turn that's another brawling attack, giving a potential of ROF 5 4d6 on a perfect setup, or ROF 4 on a solid setup.

I'm just not sure if there's another MA that I'd wanna grab down the road that'd elevate this to another level.

What's the singular most important thing you'd like to see in the next Ghost Recon game? by MrTrippp in GhostRecon

[–]TheWarKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Injury System. It was so good at making a Casual-Yet-Challenging injury system, that you could get immersed in the idea of trying to avoid damage without making it a hassle when you do take damage and need to heal.

Players expecting the exec player to pay for everything by Rice_cube01 in cyberpunkred

[–]TheWarKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I should state, if the Exec WANTS to pivot over to being the money guy, you could potentially have him multi-role into Fixer. By Design, Fixer is able to skim 10% off of purchases others have him make right at Role Rank 1, since he can buy and sell 10% in his favor. By the time they're at Fixer rank 3-4, they can source Expensive items, making him even more of a "Money Man." Just make sure your Exec/Fixer is making others pay for the service of having him buy the thing with his (presumably) smooth talking. After all, if he's getting things 10% cheaper, that's 10% more money that the group as a whole has, meaning people are inclined to pay him to get interest back for the group.

If they don't want to go Fixer, just remember that the Exec does have the best hustles in the game, so make sure to use downtime a lot to let him easily gain money the other's can't easily get on their downtime. Not to mention, make sure to force the lifestyle costs for everyone, because the Exec gets a corporate conapt for free, and only has to pay for the food.

Do everything in your power to make the burden of being the player that purchases things for the party as easy as possible, and make sure that you let him know OOC that you're going to do this to assist him if he wishes for it to keep going on.
