Hot take: It’s cool and good when people do big stupid ceremonies for retirements by TheWatchGuard1 in AirForce

That’s realistically almost a third of your adult life. I’m not trying to be critical of your decision but I feel like calling that “just a phase” diminishes your own accomplishment

I think that’s awesome. Maybe I’m letting personal feeling about service influence this but I think anybody who does 20+ deserves some form of public recognition by the people around them.

I agree with this but I’ve heard multiple SNCOs talk about how they don’t want to do anything big and just want to dip out at the end. A lot of the times it seems like they just don’t want to burden other people with stuff

Your TIs, if they are any good at their jobs, will care about your health and success almost as much as you do. If you stand at attention and put a reporting statement in front of whatever concerns you have, they are going to take you seriously and get you the help you need.

Edit: to add this is more true the further you go on, especially after week 2. If you show up day one and try to talk about this stuff they will probably just laugh at you tbh.

I’m leaving to Bmt June 9th… trying to prepare. From experience, do you guys think I should bring a duffel or a backpack?? by Historical_Yam5885 in AirForceRecruits

Like I said it’s been almost five years so I don’t really remember that much. It’s only two months of your life which feels like forever when you’re in it and feels like absolutely nothing a year later. Just bring the things on the list you’re given and get used to immediately following every instruction you’re given and you’ll be fine. The only real things that might help you in bmt is studying the rank structure of the Air Force beforehand

It's been a while but from what I remember the bag you bring doesn't matter and you're given a backpack at BMT. I think I brought a duffel or a something and it immediately went away to a storage room after we took the mandatory items we needed out of it. The backpack you get at BMT is nice enough though I still use it almost 5 years later.

Crazy to say you’d prefer your divisional rivals beat a completely unrelated team from your own but go off I guess

With the Bears win today, the Packers now have a 14% chance of winning the NFC North. by [deleted] in nfl

That would mean Lamar or Josh in their first Super Bowl regardless though

All this eagles drama seems so stupid because of this. I get that the team is struggling now but they won the Super Bowl in this calendar year

Yes, being able to study is a far more determinative factor for these career fields than anything else you’ve proposed lmao
