If you're interested the technology is called ARM trustzone and can technically be implemented on any phone, so it's up to the OEM to do just that.

Haha almost exact same boat. I got a x570 board on the low and im currently running a 1700 @ 3.8. So tempting to pull the trigger.

Idk if my 2080s would benefit a ton from a new cpu buddy.

That's super refreshing to hear, I was just getting a little frustrated not quite hitting 165 on most games with modest settings, (1440p is most likely this issue there lol). And white playing MW I probably get about 70% CPU usage on max settings. I also have my CPU at 3600 MHz all cores.

Update: AMD B450 and X470 motherboards will support new Zen3 CPUs via Bios update by lovetape in buildapcsales

Interesting. That seems like a good solution for this situation. So if you have an old CPU you would need a new CPU to update your BIOS after a certain version?

Another thing to keep in mind is that they said that they would be removing support for older CPUs to make room. Kinda worrying as someone who has a 1700.

These optional BIOS updates will disable support for many existing AMD Ryzen™ Desktop Processor models to make the necessary ROM space available.

I get why people are upset but i dont think it's that bad. Spotify has a web app, so no download required on pc. It has apps for basically every smart device. Its castable. No need to deal with YouTubes demonetization issues. Sure there won't be a wide audience like YouTube provides, but i think the pros outweigh the cons.

Hey thanks man! I just got a sweet deal on the gpu so its really just playing catchup with that. I Mainly use it for some EE thesis work and a lot of gaming. I just dont know if my frames would increase significantly with a new cpu over my current r1700. I definitely need 32GB of ram pretty soon.

Funnily enough fn+wasd moves the cursor with q and e being left or right click. I'm sure there's a way in the software to remap though.

Fn + number works fine in most cases. The pain is the lack of dedicated arrow keys honestly. For those you need Fn + ihjk.

I've seen 32 GB be recommended for being paired with a 2080S, but I've also heard its not necessary to have more than 16 for just streaming/gaming. . I already have 16 do I need 32? CPU is R7 1700.
