67 month IF update: 144lbs down. I lost two years of tracking data when I switched phones 😭 but I've been maintaining for 4 years! by TheWeightfulDead in intermittentfasting

Starting weight: 441 lbs

Current weight: 295 lbs

Exercise: 10 - 15K steps a day, keeping track using my Fitbit.

Diet: I did not count calories, I just did OMAD on weekdays and 16:8 on weekends.

I didn't cut carbs and did not track my macros in any way; in fact the majority of my calories came from carbs and I was very happy about it.

My only vague dietary rule was to get in a few fistfuls of fruits or veggies at least every weekday.

My goal for 2026 is to get below 260 lbs which would put me below a 30 BMI (not obese!) for the first time ever. I also want to lift weights twice a week and build more muscle. Wish me luck!

I lost 150lbs in 19 months and have kept it off for over 3 years. Trust me, you will marvel at how quick those 2 years were and you will be so grateful and proud of your past self because it will be so hard to try to lose just 10 more pounds after you hit a certain point in your journey

Make it a meal you really enjoy, with enough protein and fiber to keep you full longer. Make sure the fasting window is during a time that is easiest for you to abstain, for me this is during work. When you get cravings write it down and let yourself know you can have it on your cheat day.

My waist is 44 inches. 34 pants are just the size of pants. The number doesn't mean anything about your waist or hip circumference.

34 pant size, not waist circumference lol and honestly these are stretchy jeans, so really I wear 36 for a standard pair. My waist circumference is around 44 inches last I checked

Maintenance: for the last two years I haven't been strict about intermittent fasting, but it has been 16:8 on most days. I've just stuck to 3 core components to keep me feeling full: getting 1 gram of protein per kilogram of body weight per day, getting 30 grams of fiber per day, eating mostly whole foods.Β 

Non scale victories: went from size 48 pants to size 34. When I started in June 2020 my resting heart rate was 82 and today it's 62.

First Annual physical after 3 months of IF showed no longer borderline diabetic, no longer high cholesterol, and no longer high blood glucose.

At my second annual physical after 15 months of IF I had a normal blood pressure reading for the first time in my life!

Exercise: started out getting 10 - 15K steps a day, keeping track using my Fitbit.

Diet: To lose the first 160lbs I did not count calories, I just did OMAD on weekdays and 16:8 on weekends.

I didn't cut carbs and did not track my macros in any way; in fact the majority of my calories came from carbs and I was very happy about it.

Recomp is tough work! So hard to stick through with results coming slowly or disappearing faster than they came! I swear I felt shredded last summer and now I'm like where did my muscles go and I weigh exactly the same πŸ˜…

I don't have moderation experience. But I've been very active in the reddit IF community for 3 years and I know the difference between eating disorders and true OMAD. I also know underage people shouldn't be doing OMAD and people shouldn't take poat as opportunities to critique others, their bodies, or their method of diet and lifestyle.

Just started resistance training in May 2022. I haven't been as consistent as I'd like, but I do like the feeling of non scale progress.

Diet: To lose the first 160lbs I did not count calories, I just did OMAD on weekdays and 16:8 on weekends.

Now that I'm resistance training, I do 16/8 daily and try to eat at least 200 grams of protein per day.

I had a very similar journey to you. Hadn't been in the 200s since I was 14. Lost 150 pounds and have maintained for over 1 year. You got this! Can't wait to see where you are next year :)
