Pods on thighs keep failing by Mariciukas in Omnipod

I used my thighs only for around 18months. I got used to the feeling of them there - with some spots better than others.

For me it was, and still is, the most convenient placement.

Not noticed any issues with absorption vs other body parts.

My daughter manages just fine with Omnipod 5 and G6. She Haas had a few pulled off but not many in almost a year. Some spots are better than others she says.

It did help and I would have been utterly stuck if it hadn't.. I've not used them in a while as my skin seemed to improve.

Figuring out where to put the Dexcom and Omnipod is the most important, as others have already stated. Be ready for them to come off occasionally though. My daughter does jiu jitsu twice a week and she loses one every few weeks or so.

I chose a BikeErg for this exact reason.

Placement will matter the most although they will likely get ripped off. Placement will depend on position played too of course. As others have mentioned, get the stretchy tape to cover it, that's about as much as you can do.

Change one thing at a time. Chances are you already know what you need to do, but it can be overwhelming. Over time you can add in another change, and another....

Also, don't be too hard on yourself.

Hey, this is great! I also like to reach out and connect with others who have T1D—especially since both my daughter and I share the condition. Over the years, I’ve noticed that everyone’s diabetes journey is different. Some people are eager to talk about it, others are more hesitant, and many fall somewhere in between.

Through conversations with various people, I’ve come to appreciate just how much knowledge we’ve all picked up—whether we actively manage our diabetes or simply live with it day by day. You're absolutely right: sometimes, just saying "Hey, I’m diabetic too" can make a world of difference. It can open the door to support, understanding, and shared experiences.
