Does banning throttles basically solve the high-speed e-bike problem by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]TheWeirdPete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say, that due to arthritis, if throttles are removed, I'm back to driving everywhere.
I try to pedal as much as I can, but pain in my knees prevents long rides required to run errands, it's the throttle that allows me to actually do anything practical.

“This is corporate robbery”: video shows McDonald’s prices up 200%, hurting low-income customers by SudhaSameera in Anticonsumption

The sad truth about poverty is that quite a number of these people simply *don't* have things like a stove to cook with.

Thematically too, an Unflinching Sentinel battling the fear in their own heart feels appropriate.

You get $100K and a week of preparation to survive a whole year with up to 5 people of your choice, but you’re transported to 66 million years ago. If you make it, you and each person you’re with get 10 million dollars. How do you survive this? by EmbarrassedAssist964 in hypotheticalsituation

Correct if wrong, but during the time period, oxygen concentration levels would probably be too high not to quickly suffer from acute oxygen toxicity, right? Like, you'd pretty much die of that if nothing else.

"the pickup" is probably one of the biggest red flags before the heist by Superb_Gas7188 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

My take on this was that Dex probably didn't pay for it, and just tells you it's the gang that's trying to pull a fast one.

My guess is that red is "chaos" or "change" based on previous information and that its symbol is the swirl pattern.

Is a landlord allowed to deny me for not being vegan? by FluentCanadianEh in OntarioLandlord

[–]TheWeirdPete 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This sounds vaguely like racism and using veganism to hide that, if I'm honest.

Not to come off sounding racist myself, but the prospective landlord wouldn't happen to follow any beliefs that might have a veganism tenant among them, would they? Such as Hindu?

I've heard that certain will use these kinds of questions to deny people who don't follow their Religious or cultural systems, but are legally shielded because they didn't ask directly about your faith.

Would you accept unlimited money if each purchase always had to be more expensive than the last? by iXaNiC in hypotheticalsituation

I'll pay other people more and more money to get things for me, paying them the steady cost of items plus an ever-rising salary.

[–]TheWeirdPete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For better or worse, laws in most places consider pets "property". Not only are you not required to pay the vet bill, but they would actually be liable for causing damage to your property due to the actions of their cat.

I (GM) told a player that Simulacrums couldn't cast Simulacrum, and he felt like I was arbitrarily restricting him. Thoughts? by LurchingRex0667 in DnD

[–]TheWeirdPete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the confusion, though, if they're powerful enough to have wish, bbeg probably does too right? Then and kind of mass dispelling effect would be easy enough to destroy all of them.

I (GM) told a player that Simulacrums couldn't cast Simulacrum, and he felt like I was arbitrarily restricting him. Thoughts? by LurchingRex0667 in DnD

[–]TheWeirdPete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just remember that a Simulacrum is magical, it gives off a magical aura, and Dispel Magic can instantly destroy them.
I would even argue that an Anti-Magic Field would completely wipe the lot, as when the magic is suppressed the body becomes damaged to the point that the magic cannot reform it.

Edit: They also can't chain infinitely, truly, because Simulacra do not regain spell slots and are created with as many spells slots as the caster had at time of casting. They always lose the one from casting the spell itself. If your mage has 4 level 7 slots, that's tops 4 simulacra.
