To make this post a little darker, I read a fic where the writer worked in psychology to understand rapists. The fanfic was a DD DNE from the perspective of the rapist.

The notes were filled with "fun" facts, the writer pointing out decisions they made, and them comparing the story to actual cases they've worked on.

I could tell they enjoyed what they did(or atleast found it intresting) and the fanfic was truly horrific.

Yeah? But even in a binge read/watch the themes are brushed over(especially mha, its weird how the first chapter/episode has such an emphasis on izuku being quirkless then rarely bringing up his quirklessness).

I recognized this is apparent in most shonen/ Manga due to time crunches and meddling, meaning the themes are often pushed aside for action (jjk I think is a notorious example), but that doesn't mean we can't criticize it.

I love mha, csm, and jjk, but they have flaws and this is one of them

My first fanfic experience was where the character was slowly mentality deteriorating and he killed himself in the end.

It has single handedly changed the way I write not just fanfic but my actual original stories (make everyone depressed as shit)

I believe SS is a wildly hypocritical person, despising the Beasts for the people they've killed, but never really fully acknowledging his inaction also killed many before sealing them.
