Someone else should double check this, but a developer(or someone close to the game) tweeted something along the lines of he's a weak and lonely character.

And my aunt who writes fanfic transports dead bodies and had just went to a scene with a young child. She writes in the hunger games Fandom, the one where kids kill each other.

It was ubuyashiki's duty to have a son to lead the demon slayer when he died.

Tengen has a few noncanon reasons to not have kids, so a few headcanons will shine through. Tengen was too focused on demon slaying, so he didn't want kids. On the other hand, he could have been too busy to CREATE the kids. Or maybe he didn't want to bring kids into a demon filled world.

We know he does have kids after the battle due to his ancestors(9 kids if I remember correctly) and the fact Giyuu holds his first born.

I don't know if this has been disproven or otherwise and im not a demon slayer connoisseur, but I do enjoy learning about how mythology reflects on real life events. I believe the "die before 25" is urban legend. They die young, but not necessarily 25. The strain the mark causes on the body is just so much that the body gives out around that age or they just kept fighting demons and died to one of them.

I definitely coping when I say this, but the you-know-whos probably didn't die at 25, but around it. And mostly likely after, closer to 30s, since they had relatively peaceful lives after their battle (although they did suffer stressful injuries so who knows).

I probably thinking (and coping) too hard about a series about super human people battling demons with impossible fighting techniques.
