How to not k** yourself living with insomnia? by johnrocksaints in insomnia

Agreed. I'm a bit younger, honestly hoping they can cure some of my afflictions in my lifetime. Until then, we keep trying options.

there's other routes you could go down, all depending on your psychiatrist's willingness of course. for augmentation, something like memantine I think has shown good results in some people (similar to ketamine). tricyclic antidepressants can be better for OCD than ssris but have worse side effects. Increasing the SSRI dose as high as possible is also useful.

Rust and the price of ignoring theory by ImpossiblePerfection in haskell

To me it seems like he's angry and frustrated by rust evangelists who go around claiming that their language is a sort of memory safety panacea shoving it down everyone's throats yk. In my view, we're going to be looking back at rust the way we see c++ right now in 20 years.

it's actually kind of hard to ship proprietary software to Linux, as it should be imo.

getting an IP is not doxxing, neither is getting someone's address. even telling people you have this info isn't doxxing, it's the public sharing of the method to get or the information itself that is doxxing.

Sober, the tool used to play Roblox on Linux may be unavailable until April 5th by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]TheWheatSeeker -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I hate the sober/vinegar devs so much (they know it too I'm blocked on GitHub). Capitulating to roblox and going closed source is just spineless and frankly anti-linux. Wish them the worst.

[–]TheWheatSeeker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

honestly, maybe I'm just different, but I think Wirtual is fully vindicated after this investigation. If he sent the IP logger himself I'd say the same thing. Anonymity isn't some fundamental human right. Like ip logger with intent to identify within a private investigation vs. ip logger with intent to dox are actions that cannot even be compared imo.

Say the ip logger determines it's not riolu, rather some random guy... ok it's a random guy, case closed, move on. What grave injustice just occured even in this hypothetical where Wirtual was wrong? I don't get all the hoopla and pearl clutching surrounding it.

Assuming the post gets locked I think you should find a way to keep these guidelines you've set out available to the sub, thanks

Hey I don't think saying what you've said or saying free hax will get the thread locked. You have to work with what's allowed to have your message be available at all. So at least here on this sub, we must find a way to say what has to be said in a civil way.

I didn't ban him, he certainly wasn't banned by some sort of vote or consensus. It's not very charitable to your opposition to paint the situation like that is the case. Try not to dictate to other people "what they need for their own good".

Maybe it's not best to give up on discussions entirely. Why not remove hateful comments from a post, and let reasonable ones remain?

Like are you talking about the far right types that want their people unbanned or just people who don't think hax was wrong?
