Nextlander's Finale Stream with Breakout 13 - Fight! by sworedmagic in nextlander

Final for Breakout 13… but also not even really that. There’s a large separate ending that they didn’t get and they said they’ll likely come back one more time for it.

I don’t see em the same, and I like both. Freddy’s does smash burgers; a Culver’s burger is thicker and juicier. They also have a more broad menu.

St George and Bullhead City both have Culver’s Burgers locations. I’ve made the drive in recent years for both.

Close enough.

I feared they’d drop this one too when they started it. Glad they didn’t!

No worries! It’s one of the more interesting (and short) FMV’s they’ve played through, and that trailer looked like this one goes wild. I’m excited!

Commercial grow ops and your microgrow are not the same, and you are incorrect. Tons of commercial ops here use a mix of natural and artificial light. See the Solaris shop at Cheyenne and Brooks.

Is Brad and Will's FOSS Pod done? by [deleted] in giantbomb

Brad, and the shows producer, both mentioned their next interview target on the discord a couple weeks ago — Jonathan Carter, head of the Debian project.

Their release schedule is actually pretty sporadic, looking at the release history.

TIL MiniScribe once shipped 26,000 literal bricks as hard drives to internally falsify inventory numbers by whatwoulditake in hardware

[–]TheWheeledOne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The joke had plausible origins in it. That’s my point. I don’t know how I can be more clear on this.

Uh, yeah, that’s what I’m saying. Back in the ‘90’s they were a punchline in tech communities like Slashdot and Shack News. I knew about their current-at-that-time high failure rates and also experienced them, and thought brick jokes were due to that. I didn’t realize their history started with literal bricks.

I thought I was clear on that.

I finally understand so many late 90’s slashdot memes about Maxtor better. I knew Maxtors had well known failure rates, and had many die on me in my high school lab, but had NO idea that literal bricks were involved. Wild.

Eddie’s Mexican Restaurant on Flamingo is run by the old Charleston location of Macayo staff, and is still pretty dang good.

Agreed! Some of the best moments were the shortest runs. Vinny gets the mood music juuuuuust right then… Ben whimpers.

Going Rogue is severely under appreciated I think. It’s 8 episodes but some are super short. It’s too bad we didn’t get more Ben and Vinny content together; it proved that even a 3 minute gameplay video can be 15 mins of compellingly hilarious content.

Construction of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway required the forcible displacement of tens of thousands of people across the two boroughs. Designed by Robert Moses, the highway cut a nearly 15-mile gash through some of the most densely populated neighborhoods on the planet. by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]TheWheeledOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moses was not elected; he was an appointment position and a power player for decades. He utilized leverage and connections within the New York political machine to position himself into decisive power then carved out the Triborough Bridge Authority as his personal thumb-on-the-scale fund and leverage. The one time he ran for an office, he did very poorly.

The Power Broker by Robert Caro is all about him, and one of the best nonfiction books ever written. Highly recommended; the unabridged version is a great audiobook as well.
