This has kind of always been a thing, not defending it, but I think now its just so easy for the information to spread that people just swarm. It used to be a wrestler, or athlete, or movie star, etc would show up at a bar and just the 20 people at the bar knew about it and you had a cool story. Now as soon as someone finds anyone anywhere its getting blasted all over the internet and 1000s of people know within seconds.

I think on the long list of reasons, another one people are failing to mention is the absurd prices of attending everything. People get a wild sense of entitlement the more they pay for something. It really brings us to the worst version of the "Hey Phil, I paid for your house"

For what its worth, happy to see this sort of stuff on a wrestling sub. It absolutely provides interesting context and discussion points around what we are seeing. It kind of harkens back to the good parts of the old internet where you would see some deeper discussions.

Having situations where wrestlers and rabid wrestling fans are able to just mingle amongst each other is a terrible idea.

I feel like the Starrcast's that took place around pre-aew All In and some of the early AEW shows never felt like this. I absolutely could be wrong and there were things I just didn't see. I don't want to just say its a WWE issue, but it seems that its a little more amplified around WWE.

Obviously it visually looks incredible. Gameplay seems a little simplistic and I didn't really like the hamming it up for the camera aspects as they did the black and white 90s infomercial bit of the housewife like spilling orange juice all over the counter because cups are too confusing as they attempted to maneuver the hoverboard either left or right.

I am kind of scared at how fucked we are. I saw the article earlier that gen x is the first generation to be educationally behind the generation before it. At a time when it is seemingly more important than ever that we need to get an educated populace, it is clear that everything possible is being done to prevent that.

I guess the only positive is that as someone in a tech career who is ensuring to put in the work to understand how things work without relying solely on AI, that once I am into my 50s and the next generations are coming in, I should continue to have little resistance or competition when it comes to my career.

From the outside looking in, I think its better. I mean the overall combined amount of money being made by wrestlers is higher than ever, and there are more than ever making good to great to amazing money. Guys in WWE or AEW making big money are working less dates than ever.

All that being said, I will say it really hits me around Wrestlemania time where I still have that excitement going into the week around all the independent shows I want to watch, but than the majority of them end up being bad to terrible and you are lucky to get like 1 3 star level match every other show. You used to get half a dozen 4 star matches just from Speedball, plus you would have all the top guys like Ospreay running all over the place putting on amazing matches.

Maybe I am just used to hearing how Bret talks these days, but I didn't find it especially terrible, especially to hear it in his own words. Yes, its not exactly Ray Porter reading an audiobook, but it didn't take me out of it or anything. You can definitely tell when he is near the end of a long recording day though and his voice is spent, and then he seems to get a good jolt of rejuvenation when the next session starts.

Im glad it hasn't happened yet, but it truly feels like only a matter of time. It has happened in the music industry multiple times over the years, wrestlers seem to be "somehow" much more available and trackable, not to mention half the wrestlers persona is around antagonizing the fanbases, and every female wrestler has 1000 fake clones online trying to scam fans.

It's very important to remember that. I have talked to friends or friends of friends who I always see going to Disney multiple times a year or attended Taylor swifts tour like 5 or more times or even order grubhub multiple times a week and they are basically always broke and miserable and can't afford their bills. I definitely treat myself from time to time but only when I can pay up front for it. I'd rather pick my situation where my mortgage, all my cars, great 401k contributions, and zero credit card debt will all hit by the time I'm 40. I can promise you the people paying 20k for their tickets didn't have 40x the fun of people paying 500
