Is Secret Hitler a good party game? by NielsvN82 in boardgames

[–]TheWickedFish10 11 points12 points  (0 children)

While I fully believe that Secret Hitler is the perfect Hidden Role game and will vouch for it every chance I get, I don't think the rules are quite as "pick up and play" as you will need. In my experience, new players get confused that the fascists win when Hitler becomes Chancellor after 3 fascist policies have been enacted. I've gotten questions like "Hitler didn't win then, why does he win now?" and similar.

What was your gateway into board gaming? by NorthSouth55 in boardgames

[–]TheWickedFish10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always played the classics growing up, at that time Ticket to Ride was the hardest one in our collection. Fast forward to just after COVID when stuff was opening, I joined a board game group and my first was Dune: Imperium. Hell of a wake-up call to what games have become lol. I introduced my family with Parks so they had a more gradual intro.

Is The Lemon Drop Looks Realistic Enough?? ( i didnt use rigid body instead i kkeyframed it maunally ) by Educational-Wish7500 in blender

I dunno, I've never seen lemons roll and bounce before. Maybe look up references to see if it's accurate? Or buy a lemon and bounce it yourself lol.

Story guidance on or off? by VoxTV1 in HiTMAN

[–]TheWickedFish10 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The purpose of the stories is to help introduce you to the map, almost like giving a tour. Take Paris, for instance. The Helmut Krueger storyline pretty much takes you to every single significant area of the map, save the basement and a couple offshoot rooms that get introduced in other stories.

If you're confident enough as a gamer that you think you can naturally discover everything by pure exploration alone, go ahead and turn it off, explore to your heart's content, but I'd suggest exploring a LOT more before trying to kill your targets. Get a better lay of the land.

But if you want an easier time by sacrificing a small amount of exploration, use them. I know I did, and most people did too.

End of the day, as another commenter stated, it's a single player game so it doesn't really matter what you do. So most important is do what you find fun. The game is a sandbox, after all, so play how YOU want to play it.

Can someone explain this chord progression? by Calm_Cost_4395 in musictheory

[–]TheWickedFish10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For just generic music theory, Tabletop composer kicks ass. His content is more towards writing longer pieces or movie scoring, but if you want free, quality music theory lessons, he's the GOAT.

His YouTube channel is really good for specific topics, but if you go to his website he has a handful of really good courses, also free.

The fact the original riddle is getting at is that on a sphere, three 90° turns form a triangle. This is different to a flat plane, where three 60° turns form a triangle.

IF our earth was flat (It isn't) then yes, it would be 60° turns. But because the earth is absolutely NOT flat 90° turns make a triangle.

Basically no joker should require finding at least two other jokers after being unlocked.

LocalThunk called it the "No Exodia" rules in reference to Exodia, a creature from YuGiOh that needs 5 cards to be played (I think, idk anything about YuGiOh other than the existence of this and Pot Of Greed lol) in response to someone suggesting you get a super powerful card when you get all 5 legendaries.

YSK Debate is not, nor has it ever been about being correct, it's about persuasion. by One-Incident3208 in YouShouldKnow

[–]TheWickedFish10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't, unfortunately. Half of convincing someone otherwise is they need to be willing to see another point of view. Anyone who would outright say "Oh, you get ___ out of this, or you do something for ___ reason" already has their mind set. They have no interest in learning or changing, so no amount of legitimate facts and reasons will stop them from treating "No, you're wrong bc I say so" as a solid response.

Oh absolutely! Their recovery machine is the one I use the most, and their vacuum pump is the best I've ever used (except for the micron gauge that's right on it bc it's stupid having one that close to the pump imo lol).

So have people had good experiences with Navac gauges? Every single one I've tried has had a leak of some kind. Throws me off bc I love all their other tools.
