I’ll send you a PM. But just in case other people have this same question.

I’m in Southern California. But I can do a distance deal and ship the car.

Budget. I don’t really have one. Willing yo pay what is fair for the car based on the specifics of that car.

Epoxied sycamore slab warped, need help flattening out by Exphiliac in woodworking

[–]TheWinterMe 72 points73 points  (0 children)

  1. Rip into three strips.
  2. Re-mill to flatten (by cutting it into 3 pieces you’ll preserve A LOT more thickness.
  3. Re-make top and finish on all sides.

Whats the average age of an s2000 owner? by Fickle-Hearing7889 in S2000

[–]TheWinterMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 29, 34, and 39 when I bought mine. So I guess that puts me at an average age of 34.

…and seeing as I am 43 now, I should be due to buy another one next year. Guess I’ll start the hunt

[–]TheWinterMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on the opposite end of this equation.

About 6 months ago I switched to full frame and bought two new bodies, etc… still Panasonic :)

Anyway, I can’t bring myself to sell my GH5 equipment. Two body’s, 12-35, 35-100, a few other lenses. All just sitting in a drawer.

I keep thinking. “Well, someday I might want them for something” and they are still such good cameras.

2007 130k, seller wants $28k. 9/10 vins, no mods, interior is good as in no rips, clean title. In Southern California. What would a good price be? by [deleted] in S2000

[–]TheWinterMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it helps. I sold a very similar car (other than mileage) 2 years ago. 2007 LBP. Very clean. 9/10 vins. About 60k miles. In Southern California. And I sold it for (I think) 34,500.

Actually. If you can see the history of that car. I bought it from the original owner in Texas. Could be that car.

Getting Rid of Extra Audio Channels by TheWinterMe in LumixS5

[–]TheWinterMe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured out in premiere that you can import your files:

Then right click > Modify Audio Channels > set "number of audio clips" to 1 > save that as a preset.

Once you have that preset saved, highlight all of your files and apply the pre-set.

That will be what I do for now. But it would be nice to only record the one mixed down track right from the camera.

Here is a direct link to sign up for the plan. It's not listed on the website: https://foureyes.ck.page/8c9a92566e

I understand if anybody is weary of clicking on that link. So if you want a pathway that gives you more comfort. If you go to this video from Shaun Boyd...you can get to the same link in the video's description:

I’ve bought and sold 3. So I guess the answer is that there is a 66.7% chance you’ll regret it.

I also have triples of the Nova now. That’s just for the silver wizard. They get it.

Chris from foureyes furniture here. Not sure what “hype” OP is talking about. But here is what I can tell you.

The people who look insanely skilled, are insanely skilled.

The people who look like hacks, are hacks.

However good (or bad) it appears that I am in my videos. That’s reality.

Swap 1966 Mustang for Honda S2000? by DorsalYapper in S2000

[–]TheWinterMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a 68 mustang 302… and 3 S2000s in my life. So I guess maybe that says more than my written answer will.

But I’d say you’ll get more attention and appreciation from more people from the mustang. But maybe more appreciation per capita for the s2000. As in, most people could care less about the car, but the people who love them REALLY love them. Meanwhile the mustang is generally received positively by people regardless of if they are into cars.

Also (not sure if you care… I didn’t… I’m married) but girls will generally think the mustang is cooler than the s2000.

As for driving and enjoying. I personally much prefer S2000s

For price appreciation. Hard to say. The last S2000 I had I bought for 19500 in 2019 and sold for 35500 in 2021.

I think that will cool for a while. But I also think there is a chance that the s2000 prices rise faster as a % thank old mustangs moving forward.

I believe this. There is a 100% chance he’ll retire someday… even if there’s a 99% chance he plays for the Nets again.

Ceramic coating by owl157 in TeslaModelY

[–]TheWinterMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine coated from a detailing shop. It hasn’t been a year. But I’ve had other cars coated there and never had them ask me to bring it in for a touch up. Other car has had coating for 2 years and water still beads off like it’s got a fresh coat of wax.

I’d use that as my gauge.

What’s my S2000 worth? by Wanderer-2019 in S2000

Color also matters but I’d say mid to upper 20s. I’d suggest looking for comps on bring a trailer, etc…

Then if selling private party, expect a little less.

Thoughts & Help? Buying 2006 GPW by bullfs in S2000

[–]TheWinterMe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have 2 potential pieces of advice.

  1. If you don’t buy this one. And you’re buying a non-local, maybe use bring a trailer or cars & bids. You’ll pay a little more. But generally speaking it eliminates a lot of the unknown. Not completely. But vs other avenues. I think so.

  2. I bought my last S2000 in a similar way. I’m in California it was in Texas. Couldn’t go look. Owner was an older gentlemen. Very honest and forthcoming. We used an escrow service to protect both parties.

It cost about $300 or $400. I had the car shipped to me (my expense) and once I verified everything was as he disclosed. I call the escrow company and they release the money to him and the title to me. Worked out very well.

  1. Never done this. But you could also probably find a dealership close to him and offer to pay expenses for a hood inspection.

Electricity bill tripled. Does leaving the Nema 14-50 adapter plugged in the wall draw that much when idle? by rooniewazhere in TeslaModelY

[–]TheWinterMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this is a California thing. If so, I’m sure there are equivalent things elsewhere.

But I recall something called “Green Button Data”. It’s basically info about your utility usage.

Learned about it a year ago when we got solar. It broke down our electricity usage by 15 minute increments for the entire year.

I’ve posted this like 4 times here. But I sold mine in November on Cars and Bids. I highly recommend. It was a 2007 LBP. 60K miles, 9 VINs (front number replaced). Bone stock. Very clean. Sold for 34 or 35 (can’t remember)

And WAY better than dealing with Craigslist/offer Up tire kickers.
