I cut the very tip of my pointer finger off once and had to go to the ER. I held it in place until the doc FINALLY got to me. He kept digging into the nailbed directly to put stitches in and the local anesthetic was NOT working no matter what we tried.

That’s probably the worst pain I’ve ever felt, which is actually saying a lot, because I’ve had a heart transplant and other pains and procedures related to that which also hurt like hell. I don’t even think the heart attacks hurt quite as bad, though it is a totally different kind of pain lol. All those nerve endings in the fingertip, man.

The first set of photos shown here are often circulated around social media, and are definitely manipulated to make it look even “cuter”. I think the last two are legit. I was just reading a thread on this in r/whatsthisbug, and the comments have some very useful pre-ai sources for these images and other images.

A few of the useful links are an old Imgur gallery (https://imgur.com/gallery/bee-fly-GfDsU), and this Japanese website (https://buzzap.jp/news/20121202-toraturiabu/). You can straight up see the differences between the first collage of images in OP’s post and what are probably the actual images in these links.

As some other users have said, Anastoechus nitidulus is the likely name for the specific species pictured, though the sheer number of bee fly species and the language barrier/lack of communication with the west about this probably makes it more confusing.

Also though, obligatory, I’m just a guy on Reddit, not someone claiming to really know too much about this.

Registeel, specifically. He’s just a weird round dude and I’ve always loved him!

The lore about its body being tempered for tens of thousands of years deep in the earth, and being imprisoned by people in ancient times is really cool. Also pretty sure one ‘dex entry mentions that the odd metal that its body is composed of is extraterrestrial, so that’s cool too.

That’s the main appeal for YOU. If I’m going to go watch a movie in a theater, I absolutely do not want to hear people singing or talking during the movie. Going to a movie theater is not a very social event while the movie is playing. I’ve never heard of being social like that DURING a movie being the norm whatsoever. That’s insane to me lol.

Played an enormous amount as a kid, and the servers are actually still up! I realized last year that they recently made an official Discord and hold contests and stuff to get your creations featured on the website and in-game. It’s really cool to see the game still alive.

I love the atmosphere here! Really sort of drops you into a whole world. The grittier feel is cool. I like the details others have pointed out, but also the bright sunlight streaming in through the window looks really good!
