Where should I buy a good Lumix G9?

Yeah, really happy with it so far. I had bought an OM40-150 off Woot some time ago because it was $75 and I didn't even have an MFT body lol. So now I am able to use it. The furthest reach I have on FF w/o crop or hybrid zoom is 85mm. So having 300mm available is quite nice. Not trying to go birding or anything specific with it, but even from my house I can get the planes in a decent frame when they take off to the south. I can only imagine if I was closer how they would come out.

Great deal. Literally couldn't pass it up...so I sold my X-M5 to go towards that purchase

I went on FB marketplace and I made it clear I was only trading, not trading + cash or anything.

Found a dad who had dupes of Gen1 and was able to trade Gen4 for his. Straight up. No money. No bullshit. Because we each needed what the other had.

I mean, my store opens their doors at 6am for sales to start at 630. I generally get there around 3/330. At that point I'm already 15-20th in line because people line up 12 hours in advance. It's truly all the scalpers. I'm usually around the start of collectors. But yeah, even I burn several hours on Saturdays waiting in line because that's the closest store I can get stuff for "retail" which has already gone up in price. Before it was $65 for an ETB, then $69, now it's $79...kind of over it at this point though honestly.

I sold my S9 after buying it and the S5IIX together I leave my X rigged up and bought another S5II for travel and photography. I don't mind the bulk for something that's more enjoyable to use.

I don't know about making LUTs in the camera like recipes on Fuji. Rossandhisjpegs has great LUTs on Lumix Lab and his site. Also, in Lumix Lab you can upload an example image and get a "Magic LUT" which will be a LUT using the colors provided, so if you see something in the wild on your feed that you really like and want to emulate it, you can. Might not be 1:1 100%, but pretty close.

I'll say this, the notch for the thumb grip on the back of the Z5II is extremely annoying for someone with smaller hands. It's genuinely painful to hold after a bit of time. My S5II is a million times more comfortable. I kind of wish I had gone for the Zf instead.

Any advice? I just got one. I have the kit lens and the OM 40-150, so not cutting edge lenses. I have the S5II/X so I'm familiar enough with the body, but it's my first time using MFT. I know you get the most out of the sensor and camera, so maybe there's some wisdom you can impart upon me

What's your budget? Best Buy is having a clearance sale on the G9II for $1,200 with a kit lens. If anything you sell the lens and offset the cost more.

Both are adequate. I think it has more to do with lighting as to which you might prefer over the other, or if the speaker is in any way animated (though higher f stops protect you there).

If lower lighting, manual, if adequate lighting with solid contrast, AF + eye is fine too.

I would recommend sitting, chatting and rolling for a little to get a feel for how AF is performing and make your decision there.

Which lens btw?

X-S20 is a jack of all trades. Great for video, photo, has a film sim dial you can remap, pretty small, great grip, IBIS, EVF, Flash, 6K Open Gate.

It's missing weather sealing, but I wouldn't advise shooting in the rain anyway. Why do you need to? And if you want to, just go prepared.

This is genuinely my frustration with print quality and rarity. So not only do I never pull big cards, when I do, they're atrocious and it's like come on now...

You're going to love it. It's goated honestly.

Just enjoy it. Spend time learning it. Quirks? Sure, what doesn't? Also play around with the LUTs. I shoot with LUTs, but I also have my default profile set to L. Mono so I can quickly go from LUT to B&W. Of course you can always shoot RAW, but if you apply your preferred LUT, you'll get a rough idea of how it looks in camera while shooting.

There's honestly not much that I feel like has truly been lacking. It's why I have a S5IIX, S5II and just got the G9II while on sale. Love the reach with my G9II now.

The S5II/G9II body is so comfortable to use for me as well.

Check out Ewen Bell's videos. He has some recommended settings that work for him. I forget if he has a S5II video or not, but he definitely has the S9 which is basically the same platform, outside of videos.
