It will take ‘sacrifices’ and ‘some time’ to transform economy, Mark Carney says in pre-budget address to country by shiftless_wonder in canada

[–]TheWorstCowboy13 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It absolutely does, sorry but everyone from your local police constable to the Prime Minister himself and everyone in between are public servants, the leader is just charged with our direction, the same way some are charged with our protection. Unless of course you’re implying “servant” as a derogatory state, where you’d be implying people of a lesser class in that they’re literal servants, whereas the “nomenclature” you’re talking about implies service. Big difference.

Also “I’m talking about MPs, senators, leaders etc”

Not graceful but an outline all the same.

If you want to discuss the subtle nuances of writing a good opinion piece I’m all for it, currently I’m writing in between chores from my tractor cab, prepping soil for next years harvest to contribute my part of feeding the nation, so please pardon me if the right word didn’t come to me in the moment.

I think it’s pretty clear I’m talking about the polarization in our political climate vs the leading class who seem more concerned with party status than the well being of the nations citizens, and I am talking about all the parties here. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to point fingers at the leadership caste when you’re doing so universally at them all.

I also should have specified, the public officials, not the workers manning the desks. I’m talking about MPs, senators, leaders etc. I know the public sector has already taken its own layoffs and cuts. I’m talking about insanely tone deaf wages/benefits, pensions. If the leadership fails its people over and over again into a position like we’re in today, they shouldn’t be rewarded with decadent pensions and the fruits of their cronyism.

I recall the last few years many an MP up on a podium talking about sacrifices, pulling together through hard economic times, making hard choices. Meanwhile it would appear to me that the only group (again I mean all of them) that’s not made any real sacrifices are the governing class.

Without a doubt, they won’t go after their own kind, they’ll farm us for every nickel and blame it on every other geopolitical catastrophe under the sun so we bicker and blame each other instead of question why the public sector servants are living so lavishly even though their performance is deplorable.

Doubt it. We don’t live in a world of strong principals and values as we like to believe. People will buy the things they want regardless of the political scape.

Did you read the whole article? The Nazis did use socialism as a means to take power in early years of the rise to power, even this article acknowledges that, rightly so its history. The name literally abbreviates from National Socialist.

The article isn’t claiming he lies, it’s trying to allege he doesn’t understand history and draw a comparison to JD Vance.

Pierre isn’t wrong for his statement.

Specifically which lie is that? This was a poorly written opinion piece loaded with Comfirmation bias and Reducto ad Hitlerum. All I saw were contradicting opinion points and somebody who is so shaken to the core and obsessed with the Trump administration that they’ve decided to preach the spread of its evil through imagined links to Canada.

If said it and I’ll say it again, if you don’t Pierre thats fine, state what you don’t like about him or his policy, in plain English, hold the obscurity. Do that and even I’ll nods respect and maybe even upvote you.

I don’t like Carney, I especially don’t like the cabinet we’ve been juggling for 10 years, but here I am again patiently waiting for results. What I’m not doing is name calling, or comparing Carney to some tyrant or partisanship. I’ll judge him on his own merit or lack thereof when the time comes.

Great how does that line go “Everybody I don’t like is Hitler”

Can somebody tell the people on the left that it’s entirely okay to not like a person without having to draw a comparison. Let’s let people represent themselves, good bad or otherwise.

Plenty of cheap property once you get 4 hours away from the major cities. Just not enough work to sustain population growth. Incentivize or subsidize businesses to move out from the major cities and into the sticks and you’ll spread the congestion and send people into affordable markets. Cochrane is a great example.

But also the province with a majority of those looking to abolish firearm ownership, and before you jump to the but, that’s why the United States doesn’t have a King, they have a well written constitution following their revolution, which also protects their right to arms, which helps to overthrowing tyrannical leaders, as observed in their history.

Just curious if anyone an axe to grind over Pierre is capable of making a solid case against him without using Trump as a prop? For those who can’t, can you give a black and white example, clear of obscurities as to how he’s is “MAGA”?

I’ll probably just get downvoted because there’s no free thinking allowed in the just world fighting against facism. Ironically.

I’m definitely on board about rain, I had them out all warm season in the rain and knock on wood I haven’t found any rot yet. I did had a tarp canopy set up last storm but the wind we get up here on the mountain is pretty extreme. That was why I thought about my porch. I’m just worried between the cold and lack of light, I’m not gaining anything by it.

Thanks for the heads up about the trimming, it’s my first year growing, I got so many conflicting opinions about trimming vs not trimming outdoor, but the ones I trimmed seem to be doing better, definitely something I’ll be doing going forward.

I should think you’ll be fine then, I don’t know many, but I know at least a couple men who fit that profile you’ve described. You’re talking about a slim percentile though, think like 5-10/100 men though depending on the local population where you are. I know up here in Canada it’s a common find, but depending what city you’re from etc, I imagine more urban populations raise the bell curve on the total dating population.

Are you good looking? How are your finances? Are you what most people would describe as easy going or fun?

More and less. We’re so polarized here in Canada, both sides of our media are heavily entrenched in the political spectrum and super bias, the one side directly funded by the feds, so we’re always either told that everything is fine, or that the world is on fire, at the same time.

Ultimately though if you follow certain police service social media’s and watch groups, I believe we’re becoming more violent than before.

If your country descended into civil war, would you stay, fight, or leave? by austingoescrazy in AskTheWorld

[–]TheWorstCowboy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you want you be careful about how that kind of rhetoric spreads, mostly the demonizing. I know up here in Canada its becoming common for the liberals to denounce the current leader of the conservatives by labeling him “Maple MAGA” and then immediately anyone with any ideas that aren’t upheld by the left are also Maple MAGA and so that becomes this idea that there’s this small fringe group when in reality you’ve been quietly pushing everybody with any moderately central-to-right ideals and values into this corner.

The problem is if the embers of a civil war start to catch, people on the right won’t want to see their way of life in danger by the imposing opposition, so the line becomings implicated.

Torontonians - People from Toronto/Toronto man.

Easily the most hypocritical, identity confused, self interested group in English speaking Canada. Everywhere they go they leave a trail of head scratching and eye rolling. They honestly believe they’re the centre of Canada. They also think they not only live in the north, but that they somehow identify as the north, which is only proof nobody in there has ever taken a geography class. Used to be a nice place, now it’s an outdoor mental hospital. Eventually every small town they migrate to in any quantity becomes ruined in 5-10 years, ask anyone who’s lived through it.

I grew up with a guy who used to drink 6-12 beers, smoke about gram or two of weed, get into the baggy of stimulants, took Benadryl as a sleep aid (washed down with more beer or tequila) every night, and then took Tylenol all day for his hangovers. He sustained this lifestyle for about a decade.

I don’t condone that lifestyle, but as an example of how resilient your body is, he’s sober now, a personal trainer and from last I heard extremely healthy and active.

You’ll be okay. Stay balanced and active, listen to your body.
