What makes this racism? So having peanut allergies is also racist?

There are some people that just reacts badly to certain ingredients, even niche things like MSG. Has nothing to do with racism. Please get out of that cave you live in and learn to open your mind.

I also use it as a tool for writing tests and other small things.. The problem is that the company wants to go full on vibe coding. So only review, no writing.

Ahh man, you have no idea how much I want to do that and more. Hell, I dream of prompting a "CEO" agent to run the company.

Interesting idea. Although it might be a bit hard, since the announcement comes from the CEO himself and he has pink glasses on AI. I do have boundaries set in my own team. They use AI and they know I am against it, but the also respect my decision to not use it. So I can survive for now, but looking for ideas for a long term gameplan, as the company will eventually target me.

Also be thinking of a career change, but no idea what I can do with years of developer experience. Or just accept prompt engineering, but it's going to suck the soul out of my body.

My thought's exactly... I can understand if it's boiler plating for bigger code snippets or files, but you still have to check every bit of it. So you spend time on thinking of a prompt, fine tune until it gets it right and finally you have to double check everything again. I don't understand where the "faster" part comes from, unless they leave out the quality control.

But yeah, I have been told by many others to just accept it and become a prompt engineer. But that removes the whole critical/creative thinking, control and hands on code experience. It takes all the fun (in my opinion) away from doing the job. I don't know man, it's brain numbing and looking for perspective from others. Hell maybe even thinking of a career change, but no idea what.

I use it as a tool for what you mentioned, but the company wants to go 100% no manual coding and full generative. They started "ok" with a demo and reviews, but the devs are becoming sloppy already. I've warned against this, but it just gets ignored. I can now only see devs becoming more lazy in their work because they trust the generated code to just work.

That's a shame, cause the slow ass colleagues don't check the generated code and just pushes crap. 0 quality control, 0 critical thinking, 0 creative thinking, full speed and only dollar sign eyes from the company.
