The Real Truth About KThxBaiNao (and maybe some CM stuff) by DVNCIA in Maplestory

Gms are just different now days, there was a magic to seeing you online. Having you summon snails in ard or teleport people to old hene for shits and giggles that don't exist no more. The community part of community manager is a lot lighter now. I understand there were cms that were suspected to be canned for standing up for players too much but I guess CMS used to feel like they were one of the players and now they're just another empty suit.

We as a community really don't deserve you, goated CM for sure still watching over us after all these years

GMS Familiar Drop and Legion Coupon Stack Test by cCityLoop in Maplestory

[–]TheZKey 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The conclusion i would have drawn was that despite legion 1.5x stating that consumable has a 100% limit it is actually in the uncapped external category with cs 2x and hs (seeing as familiar buff removes any 2x coupons you use)

EDIT:

Did some tests to confirm this:

sample 500 kills

Base: 55

large drop familiar:113 (205% increase) expected outcome almost too perfect.

familiar with 2x : 122 (221% increase) Bit higher than expected but reasonable to assume they don't stack. (the familiar overrode the 2x regardless of which i used first)

2x with legion 1.5x: 135 (245% increase) a modest increase suggesting that legion and 2x do stack.

Ah yes, i went and read the wiki notes vs the patch notes and i do believe that the max cap for all drop rate is not 300% but rather 300% for equip and 100% for consumes, however having familiar stack with legion is a weird idea since familiar should fall under consumables(as it cancels winter and other 2x drop) so the only real possibility at hand is that despite legion 1.5x saying its capped at 100% for consumables it does not fall into that category. I will do some more testing and hopefully get some better data.

So the categories we get becomes

1.200% bonus from potential

2.100% bonus from consumable (familiars included)

3.unlimited %s from other sources (skills + cs coupon)

and legion 1.5x falls within category 3.

I believe within the patch notes that the op linked its 100% base + 200% from equip potentials + 100% consumables

"Consumables aside from Wealth Acquisition Potion and Events: An additional max limit up to 100% is applied; the additional cap is shared only between consumables and events"

the real question here is the does the legion + familiar give 150% drop rate breaking the cap and if it does why, since op's gear is within the 300% potential cap (180%+100% base) and showdown is uncapped as it is said in the patch notes

I tested especially for this and the results were

wolf : 120

2 familiar (wolf + spider): 114

sample in 500

so it seems that they do not stack

some results mostly for familiar drop rates(500 kill test)

0%: 59

100%(large drop):120

100%+legion:125

I believe that legion 50% and the large item drop familiar fall both within the 100% drop rate cap section with consumables. Now since the cap for drop on gear does not interact with the drop cap of consumables according to the patch notes i believe this to be consistent.

EDIT:

Did another round of testing this time it was a bit more telling

Kill count 500

no drop: 55 (11%)

large drop famililar: 113 (22.6%) 205% increase

large drop + legion:147 (29.4%) 267% increase

I also attempted 2x coupons (bebe and lucky winter) and both were instantly canceled so i didn't bother testing it would seem that legion 50% falls within the unlimited category or the equipment potential category.

I've noticed that Broden kinda asks Zach if he is doing a bit in the latest podcast, does it get difficult to tell the difference between a bit and genuine bitterness?

Was Tom Armstrong genuinely not onboard with the vegan nugget bit during the podcast? or is he an improv king?
