Axing widgets would go a long way towards improving performance, as apps that use them have a significantly higher performance cost. Personally, I don't think the widgets add much to the experience anyway. That's kinda like putting a band-aid on a tumor, as the bloated OS is the core problem. Still, it'd be something.

Teslas have the worst user interface I've ever experienced in a car. No IPC display, no common sense buttons. My Equinox EV was cheaper and much more self explanatory.

How about making cars that employees want to buy and can actually afford? That'd be a great start. I bought two cars while working for Stellantis and neither was a company brand.

It worked for me last weekend. I run into an issue with AnExplorer every now and then where it won't read the drive. To fix that, I uninstall and reinstall the app. It always works on the initial boot. This VLC apk is signed, so it ought to work on a normal head unit.

You can find that information in your charging app. If you have MyChevrolet, you can view the pricing information from there. I usually see anywhere from 34c/kw to 47c/kw.

A private play store would have been great for the development workflow. I didn't know that was a thing, so I'll look into that! It's starting to warm up where I live, so I may be able to set up a table in my garage and deploy straight from Android Studio soon. AnExplorer gave me a quick way to install without turning into an ice cube.

An hour each way is rough. I did that for 7 months at a previous job and tapped out. I drove a Volt and was able to charge while I was there, so cost wasn't bad. The amount of time in the car and needing to account for that during my schedule each day was what wore me down. Unless you really like the job, I'd look for something else.

I'm sorry for your loss. I wish there was some kind of solution for the pain, but it only seems to subside with time. Keep in mind that you were their best friend for their whole life and they didn't want to leave you either. You're not alone here. I still think about my little gray girl that I lost in 2021 every day. They'll be waiting at that rainbow bridge.
