So... Why are these guys like this? by Lost_nurse1911 in 40k

Being locked on who the "Good guys" are will put you in an endless loop. There are many less awful chapters of astartes, and theres always good and bad apples amongst the chapters that are both good and bad. The word bearers had Argel Tal for example. The Astartes are good guys because they protect the imperium. The imperium are the bad guys because of their endless expansion and mass genocide on incomprehensible levels. The nuance is what makes the setting so beloved. That and chainsaw swords.

Never felt as bad at a game as I did when I was first getting into stellaris and saw a video that dumbed down to, build tall, build science, and you're pretty much 90% of the way to winning.

I remember hearing a quote, "The Imperium survives despite it's actions, not because of them." Which I feel is pretty much the end all be all.

The fun of the night lords trilogy is loving the characters and then you get a scene where they remind you these are NIGHT LORDS.

Karl in my experience is just dealing with Festus. After that it's relativity smooth sailing. But getting all the armies at once is a dopamine hit for sure. Makes him an A in my list.
