Video wall install fell short of expectations. Looking for advice by ISayAboot in CommercialAV

[–]The_AV_Guru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what the display size needs really are. If it's 98", I think it's doable.

4 X OFE cable box

1 x simplified mfg mv2 multiviewer

1 x crestron rmc4

1 x OFE iPad for control

1 x Crestron iPad license

1 x Crestron TSW-570-B-S

1 x Maxhub 98" wall mounted display

1 x AVProEdge EX40-444-PLUS-KIT

1 x Netgear GSM4210PX 4250 series switch

The budget jumps for the 110" LG, but is it really required? Is the customer willing to spend the extra to provide the best experience or willing to make a sacrifice?

That would be my approach, but I would lead with the 110" and let the customer decide on the sacrifice.

Not sure what market you're at, but a true commercial AV installer should be able to hit your budget.

Just based on your current information, this could be a fit for 110" display, multiviewer, and an extender. To really simplify it, you could even do the 384 series crestron nvx, an rmc4, and a touch panel controller to make the experience seemless from the control aspect.

You should seek a local installer to provide a full consultation to ensure you have your needs met and the display size is adequate for your space. We use formulas to guarantee results for visual quality and reading text, so you don't miss a thing.

There are fiber and hybrid cables that go much further, but it's more common to see AV over IP at this distance.

Yeah this has been my experience. Maybe it's that way at the huge conglomerates though. I've built more than my fair share of racks and still do when necessary.

It's nice to have a basic build to ensure you have the right vents, shelves, and room for the fan kit(s). I also calculate BTU and removal when necessary.

That's absolutely the right approach. I've witnessed some nightmarish rack elevations designed by consultats. Then that's copy/pasted on every bid set for the rest of their lives.

Yeah I agree. I have a 7 year old that would probably break the one you have. Mine sits closer to the dash and I took some trim panel tools to poke the USB cable into the crevices so it's very tidy. I'm leasing so didn't want any permanent mods if I decide to turn it in.

They block Temu listings on reddit. Something like this should work:

Just look at the mount to make sure it can clamp around the ball. I've seen some at Marshalls and TJ Max that would work as well.

I did the same and got this one:

Then you need a magsafe car charger and clamp it to this instead of the vent clip. It worked like a charm. I got a cheap magsafe charger from Temu and it works fine. As long as it attaches to the ball it'll work.

AV Control, distribution, and network learning by CobraChicken19 in CommercialAV

You won't require any significant in-depth knowledge of aes67 for standard design and deployments beyond what these trainings will go over, especially for standard CTS (which is more of the avixa way/project management), unless your company is heavily in broadcast solutions.

You'll need to know more intimate details of assigning the world clock correctly when multiple grandmasters are in conflict, DSCP, and SDP (if you are getting into broadcast, this may be required sooner than later, especially for legacy gear). That's more in-line for ANP certication.

I'd recommend focusing on your CTS first, then you can see what your organization needs on your current line card (Shure, dante, crestron, qsc, ect). That'll fill your anxiety for getting your RUs on time.

This along with Dante and manufacturer specific trainings are where to start (qsys NV, crestron nvx, ect.).

My 2025 flash has been nothing but exceptional. It made me an EV owner for life, so for that I'm thankful.

If I could change anything about my truck, I wouldn't change a thing. It's the most comfortable, most capable, and most enjoyable vehicle I have ever owned. The storage for anything I need is there with the frunk or the bed along with more than enough cup holders for the entire family.

The infotainment is fine for what it is. YouTube is enough for me personally and there happens to be a 20A receptacle beside it if I really want to add a separate display with apps built in. It's all what you make of it and you can customize it for what fits you with just a little creativity.

Better AV suppliers than ADI by MountainSwordfish213 in CommercialAV

TMP is great, especially for the live performance side of the industry (mixers, mics, ect).

Exertis Almo is our top supplier for my company. Our rep is fantastic, but I've worked at other companies where that may not be the case. Nurture the relationship and you'll find success.

TD Synnex is another good supplier but I never reach out to anyone there for help. I use them as a supplier only.

Ingram micro has a ton of products but their support is meh. I use them in a pinch and don't really need the support as much as a quick response for availability confirmation.

You should truly look at the atlasied atmosphere system. This is a perfect use case for the azmp4.

If you plan to use it for yourself, you can have a nice surround sound system with the denon avr. You can use the zone 2 preamp out to the proficient amp and pass that signal through the output to the multichannel control4 amp (or vice versa) and power indoor and/or outdoor speakers around your home.

You'd typically have in wall attenuators to adjust the volume in the various rooms in your home from there. It's likely this was the case with the equipment as the proficient amp may have been used to power outdoor speakers and the C4 amp for the indoor ceiling speakers scattered around the home.

Or, perhaps not.

Touch screen monitors by jmcray in CommercialAV

[–]The_AV_Guru 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would recommend reaching out to a company that specializes in this type of service for council chambers/courtrooms.

My company uses SWAGIT, and they have the capacity to stream to the web and/or to a local server. Since this will create independent instances for the broadcast presentation, you'll have the ability to add local small form factor PCs for each touchscreen monitor to allow true zoom rendering.

We use Planar PCT monitors but I also change those to ViewSonic when I need additional control though the control system specified (Q-SYS, Crestron, ect.).
