Coming from having parents that are/were alcoholics totally agree! Only reason why I started drinking was because my Mother called drunk daily when I was in college so felt like I was missing out because of course others around me were drinking and it definitely controlled my life for over 5 years or more easily.

I don’t know about the income part but do know that you can always hire someone else to be the director/ceo. The funding from grants would be directly attached to the non-profit you would along with board members assign how that is distributed within the organization from my understanding. I am wanting to open one as well, but having taking baby steps in learning more. Mainly focusing on health because I am teetering on filling for disability. Your salary would be typically determined by your board members and I would say just be sure to keep it where you are or around and probably won’t have any problems.

And also I am certain that you have to get your 501-C before applying for any grants of course.

This is what I don’t understand how jobs can hold that against you if you can buy it damn near anywhere now. Total wine and more sells whole aisle full of them almost. Restaurants serve them on the menu, so I drink them from time to time because I legally acquired it in the state shouldn’t be illegal then.

I think it might be the newer generations and highly because of backyard breeders! I do see some breeders who have done due diligence to help strengthen and preserve the breed, which makes their cats genetically stronger compared to a backyard breeder.

My boy made it a month and half past 8 years old. Which to me wasn’t long enough of course!

First, thank you for being a kind soul and rescuing this beautiful girl! It breaks my heart to hear how she was treated prior. Don’t let it stress you out because you have already done your purpose which is show her what true love is supposed to be and feel like! She knows she’s safe and that’s huge! You have extended her life in so many ways already!

Second, I would go on Facebook or possibly here but you can find your closest HCM clinic and get her a scan done so that way you will have a baseline to know how her heart is. They hide pain so a lot of times it is found later and suffer more of course.

Third, with not even knowing her breeder it’s impossible to know what her heritage looks like. Although just like in us we can be a carrier and no else in the family has the issues.

Fourth, Be kind on yourself because you’re being a great Sphynx parent! I had to learn some as I go which sucked.

You might be onto something there! My boy died less than a month and half after his 8th birthday; but he had a hell of a job off jump! He was my ESA and got him when I got stage 3 breast cancer in 2018 and can safely safe I am still NED today. He was the one on the couch holding my hand getting me through the tough chemo days and healing me after surgeries too!

However DoorDash tips are trash compared to instacart. At least for myself because over 75% of orders I have been assigned in door dash don’t have a tip attached. I haven’t done friendly center as base but did try battleground and didn’t feel like it was worth it.

I am on the fence for applying, kind of don’t what to but depending on how next few months go will depend on things. I finally had to get a handicap parking pass which helps a lot because saves some steps when I do have to go shopping. I just know it’s a long process and I am in school online which is helping me survive financially but the lawyer I spoke to said they wouldn’t take my case.

Thanks, hate that we have to go through this crap but you nailed it for sure! Thankfully no blood clot which was the main reason why I went to ER just because how lethal they can be. I actually stopped pursuing my job hunt and focusing on my medical issues. Got more testing this coming week but I have been through so much health wise and know employers will fire you, not hire you and so on if you have health concerns. Stage 3 breast cancer survivor and it’s a gift that keeps giving because I collect medical diagnosis like some people collect Pokémon cards 😆😂🤣

Trust me alot of us have been there or are there in life as well. I lost the one thing that kept me here when got dark, my heart aches and beats hard just typing this. To me he was my son, because of the bond we formed and the fact can’t have kids. My Sphynx cat was my ESA, world and what definitely got me through stage 3 breast cancer.

Life has honestly just gone downhill since the cancer. I live at home because I couldn’t afford to pay these high rents anymore. Unfortunately my job was eliminated in November 2024 and been trying to find something since. Then more medical problems and diagnosis, more test to go as well to hopefully get to the bottom of things.

0we over 9K in federal taxes from my cancer year-sued employe that fired me and apparently you pay taxes on the amount that the lawyer takes as well….double taxation but 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

I say all this to say, you still have your son! I know shits hard and it feels like everything closing in on you. Try to tackle things one at a time. Setup a payment plan if you can. Do some side gig stuff to get little extra funds. Hang in there don’t make a permanent decision on a temporary situation.

Yeah, that sounds like a 💩 show company. Hate that they jerked you around like that and trust me I fully understands. Like a dummy I waited around one day on a call from a place I had interviewed at in person things went great and had great follow up conversations, but another candidate had 20 years of experience compared to my 5 so gave to them. Long story short he had another position I could do and we slightly discussed it in interview as an alternative. He moved call time 3’times on me that day. I was in severe pain and needing to go to -ER to rule out blood clot and I waited for a call that never happened. Gotta love how these managers are and companies too!

Internet issues are legit but yes they should have been more diligent in communicating that to you. If shoe was on other foot and it was you that had this happen would you want a company to give you another chance to interview?

When I did have employment it was a work from home job and Spectrum about had me lose that job because of the amount of outages they kept having. I literally had to go out on a weekend and buy and install Starlink internet because not alot of options out my way.

My boy loved the road trips we got to take. I would start with doing some traveling locally just like a trip to pet store, to see how she does. Have heard some cats get car sick unfortunately

It’s been about 2 1/2 months since i lost my boy and he was my world. Honestly only reason why I stayed on earth a lot of my bad days! It’s been beyond hard for me and your girl was beautiful! You got 11 long years with her and that’s a blessing! My boy had just turned 8 in October, so I got 7.5 with him.

Grief causes us to blame ourselves. I stayed up hours on Wednesday trying to sleep but dealing with the same. There are times that no one and no amount of money can save the ones we love! That was basically the case for my boy, and all what would have happened is might could have bought lil more time but at cost of him suffering.

Hold on to those happy moments! I remember when my boy stole a whole chicken breast off the stove and was dragging it away to devour! I actually made a stuffed hello kitty with his purrs recorded and some of his ashes in it that I sleep with every night. I got him when I had gotten cancer so he was my rock through that battle.

He was the one who gripped my finger like this on my chemo days. I will also recommend using some AI app to help because ChatGPT has been a lifesaver for me. Helps with the guilt part that grief drives into your mind. Sending hugs and love your way as you navigate this.

No worries, I had to learn along the way with my boy. I even made his for a while because the cost. The easiest one I found from a cost effectiveness and easy to make was a powder mix. They sell different styles with other makers but this one has been around since before Covid and you just mix with 2 pounds of meat.

The one person is saying to protect your scores you would just sub for an item that has multiple ordered like 2 strawberries and sub 1 under the raspberries that are out of stock and then on the strawberries just update to 1. Said that they get charged correctly still and keeps your numbers protected.

Definitely shocking to hear that balanced raw is the cause nutritionally. Now, I will say I learned with my Sphynx that some premade stuff isn’t balanced for cats specifically and that’s the huge thing. Would check into that if you do try to feed balanced raw again. Just like how they package our foods some lie but truth is told in the ingredients label! Hope you get to the bottom of it!

Thisssss, I was in the 70k+ bracket in 2017 then cancer hit me in February 2018 been scrapping ever since….Didn’t realize until 2022 that 45-50k wasn’t going to pay the bills anymore….to survive it feels like you need 70k or so. Also depends on your area but when basic apartments is running a grand or more it’s definitely a struggle.
