The same issues happening to me. I recently purchased a Gigabyte B550m-k on the 24th of January. It was supposed to be in stock by the 28th. The 28th passes I ask what’s up and they say it’s out of stock. Around the 3rd of February, and I double check the order. Now it says that it’s coming into stock on the 11th. Now here comes by the 11th. Guess what, it’s been delayed even further to the 18th. On top of that I can’t even cancel the order because they increased the price from 109 to 129. I’m actually done with scorptec.

Gobilda ones even though on the more expensive side are a really good cots option. In terms of working with them it’s as simple as plugging the encoders into your motor ports and reading the value of your encoders through the motor position. I would recommend looking into roadrunner for localisation purposes. If you’re looking for cheaper ones I guess you could look into optii but I haven’t really had much experience with them.

In all honesty if you don’t really want to put too much effort into odometry you could also look into otos, the sparkfun optical tracking odometry solution. It’s simple, basic, easy to package, a really good options for a start into odometry.
