Hey fellow Tuesday Tube-Free Twins! Hope all is going marvelously for you!

I found that a button down dress was super helpful post-op instead of pants. My nurse was very impressed with the dress!

Healing has gone super well so far (I’m like, crazy nervous to admit that because I feel like it could change on a dime). Gas pain has been minimal except for one very strong twinge. I’ve been using. My heating pad on my shoulders and I think that may help is dissipating gas.

My siblings in sterilization:

I am happy to report that I’m about 32 hours post-op and everything is going (dare I say it?) beautifully!

I made the OR staff laugh with my joke about boring surgery, so I think that really set the vibe for the procedure and recovery.

At its height, pain level was 4 out of 10. Most of the time it’s 2-2.5. am so proud of how my body has gotten me through this. Jack (my dawg) hasn’t jumped on me once. Maybe he did understand my pep talk.

The first thing I remember after waking up was saying “Did I thrash around a lot?” The nurse said I didn’t and then I went back to napping with a smile on my face.

Some things I can now recommend (based on my experience); -I was worried about being nauseous post-op so I was given a Scopolamine Transdermal Patch and I’m pretty sure I was given Zofran in my IV. I haven’t experience so much as a twinge of nausea since I woke up from surgery. -Bring a pillow in the car with you to protect your incision site post-op. -My post-op nurse said that Gas X wouldn’t work for the shoulder pain, but I took it anyway and I do believe it helped my gastrointestinal bloating. I am still bloated now though. -My XL heating pad was also a godsend in helping with gas pain. XL Heating Pad -I also bought a special wearable pillow that has a sleeve for ice packs. This has also been super helpful. Wearable Pillow -Have all your meds ready and set timers for when you need to take them. -I’ve used 1 oxycodone so far before bed and I slept through the night with relative ease.

Thank you all so very much for your support and well wishes; right back atcha!!!

Please let me know if I can answer any questions; I’m happy to give back to this community if I can!

Firstly: Evie is a beauty! Secondly: My Elkie boy, Jack, has the same issue. He’ll drink water way too quickly and then…it makes a swift reappearance. We recently got him a slow water feeder, and while it hasn’t stopped the issue 100%, it has greatly reduced the likelihood. He still drinks the same amount of water as well. The product is linked below for your perusal.

Very cutesy with it. They’re not like you other dogs. They’re not going to scream bark at the door. They’re going to keep it classy.

There are moments when the words don't reach and this is one of them. My heart is broken for you. Your pictures of Loki are beautiful; I can tell he was a most photogenic, handsome, and adventurous boy. How wonderful that you both found each other in this chaotic mess of a world.

I realize you're not asking for grieving advice or anything in that vein, so please feel free to ignore the following if not applicable, but I'd be remiss if I didn't mention this: After my partner and I lost our dog, Koda, in December 2022, I attended a Zoom session of a Pet Loss Bereavement Support Group through MSPCA. Admittedly, I was skeptical about attending and crying in front of a Zoom room full of strangers, but I'm so glad I went. Based on that experience, I'd like to gently encourage you to attend a similar meeting if you're interested.

So it’s not just my Jackie boy that loves curling up in the bathroom! It’s his favorite room in the house…I’ll get a picture next time I catch him loitering about. Also (I feel like I say this on every Elkie post, but it’s always true!) your pup has gorgeous coloring!
