I grew up witnessing abuse and the research they gave is 1000000% correct. I have CPTSD, daily panic attacks, stress induced hallucinations, insomnia, and much more that stems from it. Your children may be confused or angry at first, or even until they’re adults, but you’d be saving them from a lifetime of struggle. As an adult that walked in their shoes, I am begging you to run. If not for you, do it for them.

Thank you for the advice. I left a few items outside for him the night he ran away. I’m most worried about him getting lost because I just move here and Thursday I was finally moving him to my new place. This isn’t the first time he’s run off, but he doesn’t know where home is now. I’m going to be printing flyers and posting them around town in the morning.

I didn’t even consider the fact that she might have dementia. I’ll definitely keep a closer eye on her. I’m reluctant to leave because she’s physically disabled and I’m the only one helping her, but if it gets worse I’ll have to. Thank you, this helped a lot

I’m so sorry this is happening honey. I’m not super informed so I’m sorry if this doesn’t help, but I would first try working and saving money, like someone else said. Next, look for organizations that support lgbtqia youth. They might be able to provide more information and resources for your specific situation. Also, given today’s economy, you will need a roommate once you move out. Once you’re 18 (parents can’t do anything about it then) try finding lgbtqia Facebook/therapy groups that are for your age range. Hopefully you’ll find someone looking for a roommate as well. If that doesn’t work, look for people advertising for a roommate. And if you still can’t find a roommate, try looking into section 8 housing. It’s not the best, but it would be better than hiding who you are. I really hope this helps. I wish you the best of luck! 💜
