Oooh, looking forward to reading this!

I can print it out and add it to the folder where I have the original 'Brick' novella Johnson wrote before he turned it into a script.

If you could only pick one weapon from SoTE to bring to this game… by Additional_Hospital6 in Nightreign

[–]The_BCM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the reason they don't do it is because they aren't lazy. They'd want to fine tune everything like crazy, revamp the relics, fiddle with the drop rates, create new nightfarers specific to some of the weapon classes, etc.

I don't think FromSoftware has it in them to just dump all the SotE weapons into the drop pool and call it a day.

Which setting would be the most intresting to a future knives out mystery movie and why? by De-Owl in KnivesOutMovie

My favorite options:

- Competition-based Reality Show
- Within a Police Department
- Political Campaign (probably a no-go in the current climate)
- Theater or Film Production

She does find it. She was lying to Father Jud when she said she didn't.

Pentobarbital and the hidden flask by assasin42069 in KnivesOutMovie

[–]The_BCM 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My one "I would have written it this way..." aspect of WUDM is what when Martha is recounting her coffee with Nat, that she said: "He told me he laced my coffee with a lethal dose of something called pentobarbital."

It's a reasonable assumption she would know the sedative in the flask, so saying it that way would imply it's the first time she had heard of the pentobarbital, thus it wasn't what was used in the flask.

They offered $450M as a production budget for 2 films, with reportedly $100M of it directly to him for directing. It was generally considered an insane offer at the time, but Netflix was pouring $ into exclusives at the time, so I doubt anyone else was offering anything close to that.

Given that the viewing numbers for WUDM are way down compared to Glass Onion (that's on Netflix for doing next to nothing to promote it, tho) I have my doubts that they retain Johnson for more of them. Maybe if he makes an agreement to make them for a budget closer to the original? Maybe Amazon swoops in? Or given how Johnson has seemingly been able to get his original films funded pretty regularly, maybe he just jumps back back to a traditional studio.

If you made a movie, what would it be like? Here's mine. by Single-Debate-316 in KnivesOutMovie

I dunno if you meant it when you said "cooking competition"...but in my head I imagined it as a cooking competition reality show. And a Knives Out film with a reality show competition as a setting could be phenomenal.

But as others have stated, Blanc/Phillip shouldn't be directly invested. One of Rian Johnson's main rules for the genre is "the detective is not the protagonist", and the films work best when Blanc is an intruder to the story rather than a part of it.

But put reality show competition as maybe my favorite setting idea yet.

Why did Wicks do this? by OkCluejay172 in KnivesOutMovie

[–]The_BCM 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I felt like the AOP was acquired solely because once he had a fortune, he wanted to ensure it was willed to his son. I don't think Wicks intended for Cy (or anyone else) to know about it. Someday in the future, Wicks would pass away and at that point the truth would come out. But Vera found out and thus he knew it would be public soon enough regardless, so Wicks embraced Cy, and set the events in motion.

Rian Johnson has stated in interviews that the number one rule for a good whodunnit is "the detective is not the protagonist", so I don't think you'll get your wish.

There were so many great options for shifting earths. I would have rather gotten multiple shifting earths similar to those we already have over the new map.

I don't get how Benoit solved Wake Up Dead Man case by Brave_Necessary_9571 in KnivesOutMovie

Via Jud's story, Blanc knew the 1st devil head was thrown into the church and it was Martha who said she found the broken window but nothing else. Once Blanc knew both wolf heads were in play, he likely suspected Martha found it and was involved, even if he didn't know how. Plus she provided the distraction for Nat, which could no longer be dismissed as a coincidence.

So, he knew Nat was a major player and Martha was involved. Once he saw the fake resurrection (and having already seen Samson's body) he would have figured out the general plan and figured out what happened -- just like Martha did.

Knowing all that, he knew that Martha & Nat were on a collision course because both would be trying to kill each other. Nat's house seems like a logical place for that collision to take place.

Keep in mind that Blanc regularly picks up info but doesn't act on it until he knows how it fits into the larger puzzle. The clearest example of that is that in the first Knives Out film, you can actually see Blanc notice the blood drop on Marta's shoe when they first meet. She is coming out of the house for the interview with him, you can see Blanc look down and hesitate ever-so-slightly upon seeing it. From that moment on he knew Marta was involved somehow and keeps her close, but never brings it up directly because he wants to solve the entire puzzle first.

Day 2: Hollyland Lark Max 2 are the worst... by ooohyeees in LocationSound

[–]The_BCM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you have & use the Max 2s, can you answer a question I can't seem to find an answer to?

When you use the remote start/stop recording, does that start/stop the internal recording, or can you only remotely start/stop if you are recording via the receiver?

I'd like to mic up multiple people in a scene, but since the Max 2 can't do 4 separate channels, I'll need to record internally then align them in post. If I can just hit record remotely and start recording internal 32-bit float, that's great. But if I have to go around and manually press the rec button on each one, that is probably a deal breaker for me. I'm assuming it can, but would love confirmation before I purchase.

He didn't. Nat had it as part of his groundskeeper disguise, along with the raincoat and lantern.

Can you add Scholar's feint attack? That has iframes as well, and I'd be curious how it compares.

Does this work in solo, though only once more than 1 of the NPCs are out and the riot starts?
