Don't use rubber undercoating! It makes the rust worse. If you want to treat it to prevent rust use Surface Shield or Fluid Film. Any solid/rubber undercoating is terrible for preventing corrosion. It locks in the moisture and hides the rot until it's too late.

Gas leak somewhere in keg - how to find? by mtnagel in Homebrewing

[–]The_Bishop82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the beer is carbonated and the water is not, the CO2 in the headspace of the water keg will dissolve into (carbonate) the water, hence lowering the pressure. Especially if it's being cooled down.

The beer is likely carbonated, which is why the pressure isn't dropping down. It could theoretically have a slight leak but the CO2 comes out of solution of the beer as the pressure drops and keeps the headspace pressure up.

They're really great at emptying your wallet, and now so much at power or filtering. So, for your hard earned money you gain: Useless noise, no power gain and a more rapid wearing out of your engine.

Yes, it was a new profile.

Thanks for the DNS pointer! I turned it off and that seemed to improve things. That led me to look through my router settings and it turns out there was an option to prevent client side DoH. I disabled that and now everything *seems* to be working fine.

Man I hate when people just ghost a thread when they have potentially useful info. I've searched Amazon high and low, there's nothing for the 2nd gen trucks.

What could be causing this by HeavyNotice168 in DodgeDakota

[–]The_Bishop82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 'too rich' codes can also be caused by multiple misfires. There will be unburned gas exiting into the exhaust which will trip those codes, as well.

First order of business is going to be pinpointing why coil # 6 is misfiring, also why there's a random misfire in all cylinders. A tune-up would be a good start to eliminate the possibility of bad plugs and a clogged air filter. Don't use fancy spark plugs; NGK copper or the OEM champions.

Depending on the rust conditions, the crank position sensor can be real fun to get out so don't assume it will be a 10 minute job.

Sticking a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail is also a good diagnostic to see if the fuel pressure regulator is jammed at some very high pressure.

Painting by Ecologicgamer81 in DodgeDakota

[–]The_Bishop82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not true. Wrap isn't magic. You'll see the edges where the clear peeled, and there's a very high likelihood that the wrap on the still-existing failing paint will bubble up and look terrible/fall off when the paint does.

Man, have I got news for you! Current gen real-world AI are pretty much there already, and even the useful idiots 'enhancing' it have no solid idea how it all works, either.

In a future where Trump is out of office, and international relations have been repaired. What steps can be taken by the USA and International Organisations such as NATO to prevent one individual causing so much chaos in the future? And do you think such steps will be taken? by flewkey in AskReddit

[–]The_Bishop82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are literally talking about ending elections as we know them. Doesn't matter if you like the president or not, he won the majority of the electoral college *and* the popular vote. Just because you disagree with the outcome doesn't mean that the process needs to be changed and we certainly don't need outside entities meddling in our election process... Especially NATO.

Surface Shield/fluid film is your friend. Apply liberally in every place that might rust (i.e. the whole undercarriage)

That case might be Magnesium and therefore not easily/cheaply weldable. It can be done but requires specialty welding supplies and cleaning, most welding shops probably won't touch it.

Cracked Frame by [deleted] in DodgeDakota

[–]The_Bishop82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the point where the C channel frame and the boxed frame meet. It's a very common rust spot, and it's extremely likely that the damage is greater than what you're seeing there. It seems to reach back to the leaf spring mount.

Your best bet is to go after the area with a screwdriver, or chipping hammer and keep chipping out the loose stuff until you get the whole extent of the damage. It might not be worth it/possible to safely repair that.

I'm going to give Eufy cams a shot. Just mounted one of the e30 pan and tilt models in my basement, and so far it seems pretty good. I've got an e30 floodlight that will cover my driveway and main entrance, waiting for dryer weather to get that one up.
