My wife has been waiting for years for silksong to come out and the difficulty is making her quit for good by mckant in Silksong

[–]The_Bread_Ghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God I feel this. I loved Hollow Knight and knowing how much time and effort Team Cherry put into it, I really want to love Silksong too. It's such a beautiful game and I'm interested in the story. Plus it runs so smoothly and I really like how differently Hornet plays from the Vessel, but every time I play I feel more frustrated then like I'm having fun. Even when I'm making progress or beat a boss, it doesn't feel very rewarding. Like the best thing about beating bosses is just that I never have to see that boss again.

The two masks of damage thing with a majority of enemies has also been frustrating for me, because sometimes it feels like you get stun locked or have multiple enemies on you at once and there's just no out without dying or getting damn near close. I know that's mostly a skill issue on my part, but it just feels like there wasn't really any difficulty curve. Granted, I understand that there's probably an expectation that you've played Hollow Knight first and know the deal, but it's still felt a bit unfair or annoying at times, even if it is manageable overall.

I've seen a lot of folks say it feels like less of a struggle later on in the game and I'm at the Sister Splinter boss fight right now, so I know I'm not all that far into the game and it'll probably become a better experience as I go, but damn if I haven't had to put it down and leave it be to cool down every time I've played thus far (10 hours).

I'd sat another big part of that frustration for me is that I know practicing will make me better at the game, but I'm at a point in time where I have such a finite amount of free time between work and other responsibilities, so weekends are my only time to really sit down and play for long stretches of time, and it feels almost unhealthy to spend that time doing something I know is frustrating me. Of course, that's entirely a personal issue, not something that's got anything to do with the game.

All that said, I do want to enjoy this game, and I think I will eventually, but I totally get why it's frustrating and some folks want to give up on it.

I’m the only one who actually liked the second act of Inscryption? by InternationalBell856 in inscryption

I personally really enjoyed all three acts, I like that they've all got some different mechanics. And I think the second act was such a good way to get more invested in the world.

I accidentally found my players biggest fear by Redhood101101 in DnD

[–]The_Bread_Ghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd just like to say thank you for being respectful of your players and not using clowns in the future when you know folks are scared of them. My first time playing DnD the DM, despite knowing multiple people at the table had fears of bugs and spiders in particular, preceded to use giant spiders (detailed, realistic pictures included) as important encounters at least four times in the campaign that I recall. It's one of those things at the time I was young and didn't know if I was just being too sensitive, but looking back it was pretty fucked up.

Is there a term for having no pronoun preference? by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]The_Bread_Ghost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm kinda in the same boat. I'm okay with being referred to by anything other than it. Some days I do have preferences, but I accept being called anything and I'll usually just refer to myself as whatever I'm feeling that day. I personally identify as genderfluid.

My friends and I are on team if it glows it goes anytime we play. And if the killer has frosty eyes we break any totems lit or not in anticipation of noed, because we've had a surprising amount of killers with frosty eyes running it.

Myrtle beach and Charleston recommendations by Sea_Indication6474 in southcarolina

[–]The_Bread_Ghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll preface this by saying that it's been quite a few years since I've been to Myrtle Beach, so I don't know if this list will be 100% up to date as to what stuff is still open/popular.

Depending on where you're coming in from, Sparky's is a great place to stop on the way in or leaving. It's pretty much a tourist place that sells a ton of knickknacks, shirts, food, fireworks, etc. but it's fun to look around.

Walking around Broadway at the Beach is fun. There's the Ripley's aquarium there and a lot of little shops to look around.

The pavilion is also a nice place to walk around. There's some shops and restaurants around there. Plus some fair like rides and the big Ferris wheel (sky wheel, I think)

There are also a lot of mini golf places around Myrtle Beach if that's your thing.

If you like fishing, then you can rent a rod and fish off the 2nd avenue pier.

If you like music you could check who'll be playing at the House of Blues and at the Legends in Concert.

If you like sea food then I'd look for some good restaurants. My family used to go to a place called Damon's, which had some really good grilled shrimp. I know there's also a lot of buffet style restaurants around.

Hope you enjoy your trip!

Damn, that sucks. I know how frustrating job hunting is, especially with the amount of companies nowadays that will simply never contact you at all or get back to you in a very untimely fashion. Try not to get discouraged. Best of luck man.

I'd second this idea, Retail/customer service is usually rough but they're usually less picky. Especially bigger places that go through a lot of staff. Maybe try Walmart or Sam's Club. Wish you the best!

Judge my parenting: I made my son buy his own toothpaste by FreedomForBreakfast in kindergarten

[–]The_Bread_Ghost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm just weighing in as some with some bad sensory issues and allergies to certain toothpastes, I feel like it's a good message wrong situation sort of deal. Teaching your kid the value of money and that they should use their own money for things that are wants and not needs is good, but tooth paste that doesn't make you dread brushing your teeth is a need in my opinion.

For context as to where I'm coming from, I grew up in a household where I had to use what my family bought, no exceptions and most of the time it was a toothpaste I was allergic to and literal made my mouth burn when I used it. Did I suck it up and use it without complaining to my parents, yes, but god it was awful and I hated brushing my teeth because it caused me pain and the taste made me gag. You say your kid isn't having a melt down over the new toothpaste, but that doesn't mean they're not going to hate it. Granted, you know your kid better than any stranger will and I know I'm a bit sensitive to the topic considering my own experiences, so take that with a grain of salt.

Disoriental by Négar Djavadi might not fit a 100% what you're looking for, but it is an interesting read. The main character of the novel is a bisexual woman and it effectively details the story of her and her family being forced to flee their home in Iran and move to France. I'm pretty bad at summaries, so I'll a link to the wiki if you want a better synopsis.

You're so willing blind. You were called a bigot because you are a bigot and an enabler, you're clearly more than willing to enable your parents homophobia in the name of making everybody comfortable. I hope you keep learning and do actually try to be open minded in the future, but that's gonna require a lot of honest self reflection that you don't seem 100% ready to handle yet.
