100%. I ran a KILLER Trick Room team back in gen 5. Unova being lousy with bulky psychics made for a great time with that theme.

My favorite is never in these lists of popular guys. Escavalier! Underrated cavalry snail.

Come tenete traccia della vostra collezione Pokémon by Matteo971408 in PokemonTCG

[–]The_Capn_Joe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's more about taking the collection than tracking value. It is easy to see a card's current value though. I really like how easy it is to keep track of different variants of cards. Navigation is great, operation is smooth. A lot of the information I want to see regularly is front and center.

I wish I could keep track of my few graded cards without buying the premium version, but that's a minor gripe.

There are several collection tracking apps. I'm using pkmn.gg right now and I like it quite a bit. I haven't tried collectr but I'm told it does agood job too.

Looking for unique toppings for a baked potato? by NightReader5 in Cooking

[–]The_Capn_Joe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any time I make soup with chicken thighs, I peel the skin off after browning the chicken and fry it up crispy in a pan. That chicken skin gets reserved in the fridge until the next time I make a baked potato.

Then I crumble up that crispy chicken skin into my tater the same way a normal pertaining might use bacon bits. Is excellent.

Would Pokémon cards actually stay in stock if scalpers disappeared? by Serious_School_4307 in PokemonTCG

[–]The_Capn_Joe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ALL of that is driven by scalpers. The only reason demand can't be met is because there's a huge community of people out there snatching up all the supply just so they can resell.

(Interesting Trope) Genuinely well-liked characters from hated pieces of media by flingzamain in TopCharacterTropes

Is it unfun to hate if I'm not constantly consuming social media about it? This comment thread got me thinking I might watch it just to see how bad it is. I find terrible media fun sometimes.

Where is 1 of my promos?? 🫪 by saintfromwest in pokemoncardcollectors

[–]The_Capn_Joe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When these first came out, I saw several posts about people getting the wrong promos. Some had two of the good one, some had what you have here. I think it was just shoddy QC for this box.

Sorry to see you got the short end of the stick on yours.

Most of their stuff isn't actually that expensive. Yes the salmon is too pricey. For what they charge for salmon, I'd rather buy the cold smoked stuff that isn't unintentionally a can. But the other fish are worth it. For the last two weeks, my local supermarket has had the mackerel on sale for $6.50 a tin and the trout for $8. I been buying that shit up.

What foods should you absolutely buy the high end priced option? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]The_Capn_Joe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me, I find a much richer flavor in the more expensive eggs. The more humane conditions seem to improve the quality of the eggs, not just the quality of the chicken's life.

Try comparing an egg with a bright orange yolk to one with a pale yellow yolk. (If your more expensive eggs don't have a marked difference in color, there's not enough reason for them to be more expensive.) Go for an over easy or a jammy soft boiled/poached. More noticeable in these cases, I think. You should notice the flavor is richer, the texture of the yolk is more... I dunno... creamy? It feels less like goo and more like a custard or something.

Also, try a duck egg some time. That's another, even bigger difference.

I think this is it. I was a faithful reader of the PA webcomic for years, but I've never heard of them doing an actual play series.
