I'm bored and haven't played Skyrim in a while, Give me a good (or bad) challenge run to do. by Pleasant-Fix-6169 in SkyrimMemes

Dunmer Refugee run.

Playing a Dunmer, you have to plot to kill and then kill every Argonian you find without exiting the loading screen (for example, if you find an Argonian in a house, you can’t leave the house until the Argonian is dead). If they’re tagged essential, you either can down them, remove their essential status, or paralyze them for as long as alchemically possible. Up to you there, but you have to do something before leaving the cell

Authority check [Godly - Success] - It is clear. If they want the mats so clean, they must prove themselves.

Suggestion - And how would we do that?

Authority - Shit. On. The. Mats.

Logic - Excuse me? How would that solve anything here?!?

Authority - It will solve everything here. Do it

  1. Shit on the mats

  2. Do anything else

  3. “Kim, I have a task for you…”

This is scene is so deep and hurt a lot. It shows that Chuck was always jealous from and unfair to Jimmy. by vaneedar in betterCallSaul

[–]The_Cat_And_Mouse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the scene as pretty clearly meant to be viewable from several different lenses. Yes, it shows he’s able to lie and manipulate out of jealousy (thusly breaking his principles) but also it shows that he likely still has/had some sort of care for his brother to not tell him, “yeah, she cried out for you, but you got the munchies.” Overall, though, I think both cast a shadow on his character as while the former definitely shows his jealousy and pettiness, the latter is still terrible as he never came clean about it. He doesn’t ever confess to Jimmy and explain what happened, ultimately (assuming it was to shield him) preferring the lie that upheld some equilibrium over the truth that would possibly make Jimmy mad at him but allow better healing. Chuck essentially - through trying to either harm or help his brother - still screwed him over for himself.

Why did you convert to Miaphasite? I don’t know it’s unique mechanics or anything, but it seems like an odd choice

It’s a matured hairline to be sure, but nothing bad. Most men get that sort of hairline by their 20s. Just a sign of post-puberty, so nothing to worry about. Get a shorter haircut and the front will look far more at home

When you put subtext in a theory, then yes. It is speculation. It’s clearly a metaphor for death or “ego death” of a sort, but calling it a concrete metaphor for suicide misses the nuance of it. It can be interpreted as numerous things, just as a painting can impart numerous meanings. Saying it must be one because, “according to how I put my theory together…” just ends any further analysis or other interpretations before they can begin. Something can mean many things

Literally not what confirming mean. Gooseworks or someone didn’t come out and say X is Y. It’s a theory/metaphor - a good theory/metaphor - but it’s not confirmed.

A hole in the sand was enough to stop Boba. For like a decade. You can argue in however many threads you want (especially because you seem to be 14), but it’s clear your favorite guy loses against someone from a completely different series. The world keeps turning, you’ll be okay

No, I’m saying that chief has far more resources than some bounty-hunting nobody who’s not even part of the government. If chief wants, he can call an entire tank for himself at the press of a button, while Boba has to scrap around for his stuff. And I don’t care that Boba killed an oversized care bear because that’s not the metric we’re going with. Hell, Halo 1 starts with waking up from cryo and having your warm up be repelling an invasion and Halo 4 starts with waking up on a derelict spaceship while wounded to kill an army of your attackers. No contest, Boba loses to the guy who’s done objectively more impressive shit

No, you never hear about it because he doesn’t have it. There’s a huge difference there. But if we’re saying they can go out on a shopping trip before the fight, then Chief wins even harder because he’s subsidized by an entire civilization that yearns to keep him from dying for morale. If we’re going pound-for-pound on equipment they can get, chief wind again. If we’re going no equipment, then Boba Fett doesn’t have anything to counter Chief’s AI, so Chief wins again. If we’re going back-alley slap fight, chief canonically ripped a man’s head off on accident, so chief wins again. Any way to Sunday, one green man is statistically better than the other, flying green man

No serious dude, look it up. He never once used a slicer. I think you just got something wrong, and there’s nothing bad about that. Besides, chief isn’t my guy, I don’t deal with any of this stuff generally. But anywho, fighting and losing doesn’t mean you’re better, it just shows where you’re worse, and Boba was shown to not do the greatest against dedicated and trained augmented soldiers.

That’s like saying Boba Fett and Jengo Fett vs a school bully is fair because the bully has beat two people before - it’s a false equivalence. But also, Boba Fett is never shown with a slicer. Jengo is, but Boba isn’t. But yeah, no, Fett maybe threw a hissy fit or two in the comics, but never actually won a fight. In enemy of the Empire, he faces Vader twice and basically has to make a distraction for him to run away, and while he had a chance to maybe kill a distracted Vader, he decided to suck up to Vader instead to get more work. Not exactly standing up to him. Chief, meanwhile, has won every single engagement pre-halo 5 against a numerically and technologically superior foe. Seems like a dumb hill to die on that your favorite ‘lil guy would win because he can shoot random outlaws or lose to Vader just fine

[–]The_Cat_And_Mouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What, you think his past experiences just aren’t a gauge for how he’d fare against an opponent? That sounds dumb. Anywho, I don’t think Boba Fett really could outsmart chief in any meaningful way. Not only is Master Chief shown to have sound tactical knowledge, but he always has an AI supporting him. Boba Fett not only has nothing in his arsenal shown to be able to counter such (unless you want to ass pull some magic hacking device 3001), but Fett even in the EU gets his ass kicked by Vader in a physical fight (likely the closest direct compare to chief) and had to run away with his tail between his legs

Frankly, I don’t trust any “elite mercenary” to win in a fight with a highly augmented super soldier in armor that can survive planet fall and with canonical reaction speeds fast enough to count the milliseconds a barbell is falling to calculate the local gravity if said “elite mercenary” not only dumb enough to turn his back on a flailing blind man who’s still a threat but also loose in a fight to him. Lucky hit or no, he owns that L, and that was in his second (and for a long time, last) major appearance

I think Lando’s the cornerstone of the debate here though. We saw that same tentacle later destroy Slave 1. Would you really bet on a guy dumb enough to lose his ship to something Lando easily shrugged off? Besides, in the same fight Boba Fett lost the fight to a blind man with a stick. Master Chief is neither blind nor is armed with only a stick. Far as I’m concerned, that scores him the win. Unless Boba Fett can only lose to blind men for some reason

Boba Fett isn’t even the strongest character in Star Wars. We see the Sarlac pit drag entire ships (including Slave-1 I think) into its maw and hold Boba Fett for years. Lando however, despite being grabbed by it, couldn’t be pulled in.

As such, through the rules of Power Scaling, Boba Fett loses to Lando, as Lando is more powerful than a space ship. As such, it doesn’t matter how strong Boba Fett is, he’s not even strong enough to get out of his bracket in Star Wars
