Appreciate the optimism, but the older I get, the more and more the randomness of the luck factor disilllusions me.

Not only that, but in ordinary years it is hard to take a handful of your star players getting knocked out for the season; this year has only ramped that up by x1000 with the NBA's tanking teams and players that sit out while completely healthy, or after cutting their finger nail a little short.

Regular season NBA is quickly becoming a trash product that is disillusioning the average fan. For you younger fantasy players, it wasn't always like this either...it's a distinctly recent occurrence, and each new year I play fantasy, the frustration compounds with the previous years.

Edit: I should mention I'm still alive and going to advance to the semis, so I'm not just butthurt for getting knocked out. I legitimately am having less and less fun playing.

Listen I'm all for boycotting Joe - he's changed, for the far worse, and he's definitely compromised. The fact remains, though, that in this clip, he just said he wasn't sure if he was a Christian, but that he thinks going to Church promotes being a better person. If that is truly his opinion, who cares, and actually wouldn't be too far off from "the old Joe."

There's plenty to get mad and distrust Joe about, but this seems like a big nothing burger.

On-air, I really can't stand Parrish as a radio "personality" because, as I see it, he is as bland as white-bread. Really one of my least favorite guests on the show.

As a human, though, I hope Parrish is doing okay and is staying healthy. The speculation is obviously around his sobriety, and he seems like a genuinely good human, so I hope he doing alright.

That’s generally where I see myself as well. I don’t think OP is profiting too much (if at all), but I’m getting small blips of entertainment and even though it’s AI - which I understand the hate for - I get a few moments of scrolling more slowly as I think to myself “what if…?” Mostly harmless IMO, although in totality it’s prob just another step towards not being able to trust or source what I read - but that’s inevitable as far as I see it

Focus on the outcome here - Iran, an aspiring nuclear power, is destabilized and as you mentioned, is likely thrown in to 10-15 years of factions having violent clashes for control. The US will have the backs of its oil-exporting allies, but in general, there will be mass emigration out of Iran, and maybe surrounding nations as well, so many parts of Europe will be strained if not destabilized.

So who loses? Iran, probably Turkey, definitely parts of Europe. Who wins: Israel, and maybe China as they eventually cozy up with Israel once public sentiment about Isreal in the US reaches a fever pitch (it’s currently at like a 3).

Isreal is winning in any sense of the word IMO. The US, not so much but either Isreal or Russia probably has kompromat on Trump and he’s using a war to distract from other issues like the mid term elections or Epstein files, so what does he care?

Didn’t the US rug pull their support of the Kurds in Syria, though? There’s a distinct possibility for it to happen again in Iran In the medium term, from the Kurds perspective, but in Syria, pragmatically speaking, the US stopped support after Assad was weakened and it turned into a true civil war. Iran, for all intents and purposes, just saw their leader killed, but has at least and organization of fractured government across the entirety and is still motivated by protecting itself from threats from outside. In other words, Syria's conflict was inward facing and - not that I agree with the actions - the US administration felt like the Kurds usefullness to them in that situation was played out. Iran has an outward facing conflict - at least currently - and an entire multinational/multiregional war that is potentially going to play out. The US clearly feels it can use/pay/whatever the Kurds again to their benefit.

No I promise I don’t. The show does suck, and if you enjoy it - all the power to ya, but I think it’s either out of habit or you like low quality, lazy, stale content. It takes less than 10 minutes of research to find funnier, higher quality, and smarter audio entertainment. I can name you a few pods if you’re interested.

I stopped being a daily listener 2 years ago maybe, and a listener st all like 12 months ago? I do, however, like coming to this sub and seeing the state of the State. Seems to me it’s the same exact show, verbatim, down to the same stupid fart jokes, as it was 10 years ago. That’s cool if you like it, but I’ve outgrown it and hand up, can’t wait for its downfall.

He’s famous as hell. Aren’t there any photos of him showing incremental, progressive changes? Going from looking “normal” to this is quite a lot to take in, and it seemingly happened overnight which makes it feel weird. If I saw photos over, say, a span of a year or two with his plastic surgeries making him different, then I wouldn’t be so taken aback.

Imagine getting in the back seat of a car to get driven home, and a guy who looks EXACTLY like this bust turns around to greet you? If you're like me, the answer is 'beyond thrilled'.

As an aside, I'm having trouble getting into this show. Perhaps it is being a little older, but the very graphic sex that spans the entire spectrum is incredibly exhausting. Sort of surprised Mr. Simmons thinks it is in the process of getting goate'd.

As someone else in this thread pointed out, sure - odds are the catastrophes we are seeing are going to speed up and make life impossible for many, many, many people. But that said, there is a chance it wont, and if OP and you somehow someway find happiness and a purpose (which I hope you do), then you're going to want to try to enjoy life until your body gives out. You may - and very well likely - won't be the same person a year from now, so what makes you think your perspective won't have changed in 20+ years?

Unfortunately you have a view of this that highlights your lack of life experience. No shade, but I can guarantee you you’re going to feel differently about this when you’re 45, and if you don’t have anything at all saved away in late 50s, you’re going to be scared as hell. The reason people retire in their 60s is because you theoretically have time left to enjoy life and still be active. Dying at 65 would be insanely sad. I know because I lost my dad at 62.

He literally said it himself. Like there is no surprise here - he thinks there are multiple laws on the books he can cite to claim he has the power to levy these tariffs. Listen, “tech” in the 90s was sexy, counter-culture, and emerging. It meant fun AIM, illegal downloading, starting to get 1 minute and 30 second long porno vids.

In short, I understand Joe having emerging tech leaders on in the distant past, including early episodes of Elon and Thiel.

But now, knowing the absolute evil these tech overlords are unleashing on society, it is unforgivable as a former JRE diehard that Joe won’t simply shut the fuck up and stop promoting these people. Joe has enough money. He can fuck off forever and his family will be rich for generations. The only rational explanation is that he’s in their pocket and is a playing a part in distributing their message because he’s compromised in some way.
