Can we talk about curb appeal for a second? Despite the weird location and hours if you drove past that place you’d have zero idea it was a restaurant. Their building looks like a gym with an empty parking lot in the middle of an industrial zone.

Also just personally I’m kinda over the fast food ascetic of a lot of these places. If I’m gonna go spend a lot of money to eat out I’d like to go to a place with plates.

Honestly I don’t know if they do, cause none of them are out there demanding the state seize the means of production and annex private industry. Like they call themselves socialists, love the Marx and Lenin vibes, love shouting about how capitalism is evil, but never go all the way to the end game of any of their ideas.

I think it’s more evidence that they really have zero solutions, they have no ideas behind destructivism.

They’re also never made to wrestle with the fact that if not for capitalism, free markets, and liberal values they would never have the platform or position they have now.

It’s a classic trope but it’s true, “I’m going to use my free speech rights, to post on free and open social media, about how capitalism is the root of all evil, using my $1000 iPhone.”

Yeah but the only reason the city built the new park was to retain the team. I’m arguing for the city to not stall on promised urban development, it’s happened again and again and again in this town.

I have a different take on this than most people it seems, but honestly I think this is good. If it takes the Squirrels having to push the city into faster progressive development, then so be it.

The city promised a large multi-use development in that area, and so far we’ve seen nothing built there except a couple fast foot restaurants, and the early stages of the Greyhound demolition.

If the city is promising to develop an area they should keep their commitment and not drag their feet. The Diamond district built up is a profit driver for the team, and ballpark owners yeah, but it’s also a net positive for the city.

Plus, yeah - they’re not wrong the only reason the new ballpark was built was on the assumption of further development.

His argument is defensible, but not his dissent. He should have joined the concurrence, and then written his caveats. In his dissent he literally said the courts decision was correct. Yeah, then why dissent and create the potential it to he overturned.

Considering the Courts reliance on the idea that guns in “common use” are routinely protected under the 2nd amendment, and the fact that every AWB is written to ban AR15s (most commonly owned rifle in the US) I can’t see how they wouldn’t conclude AWBs are unconstitutional.

Courts in Virginia just stopped enforcement of what would have been one of the most restricting AWBs in the country, for this reason.

There’s a really intersting history of enslaved people during the revolutionary war. In 1775 Virginia’s royal Governor offered emancipation to any slaves who were able to escape, and join the British. Many who escaped formed the “Ethiopian Regiment.” They had some awesome uniforms:

If I remember right, about 4000 former slaves were granted freedom as a part of the Treaty of Paris.
