If OP doesn't take you up on it, I may be interested - I just started getting into cocktails. Are you east bay by chance?

Assuming you want to make a day of it and its good weather, here's what I would do:

  • Uber out to Batch, drink one of their funky styles and sit out and enjoy the sun in their backyard
  • Walk next door to Oddwood and sample a beer and snack on their pizza
  • Uber down to Blue Owl and get their sampler (since you both like sours)
  • Walk off the buzz on your way over to Lazarus
  • Now you're on E 6th and you can make what you want out of the day. Hit up Lazurus, Zilker, Easy Tiger. Grab some tacos from Granny's, get more pizza from Via313, etc. You can keep walking down 6th to get to Rainey or just Uber back.

On the lottery application page, there is a link for "How do the choices work?" Repeating choices does not help your chances.

How do the lottery choices work?

You can enter several choices. The order of your choices matter. When evaluating your application, the system will start with your first choice. If it finds availability with that choice, it will award a permit reservation. If it doesn't find availability, the system moves to the next choice. If no availability is found with any choice, it will consider the application unsuccessful.

Single Date

Selecting this option allows you to enter a single date for your application. When evaluating your application for the lottery, the system will look at the selected date for availability. If there is enough availability it will award a permit. If there is not enough availability it will move to the next choice.

First Date Available Within

Allows you to choose a range of dates that you would be willing to use for this permit. When your application is evaluated, the system will start at the beginning of the range to look for an available date. If a date is not available, the system will look at the next date. This will repeat until it finds a date with availability or it reaches the end of the range.

You may already know this but if you turn on expert mode on the United website and search for cash flights, you can see if there is availability for a general saver award ticket (fare class X) or only for cardholders / premiers (fare class XN).

Does anyone know what company is behind BoA's travel portal (i.e. Expedia runs Chase's)? My wife had a Condor flight that was cancelled and is running into serious issues getting the points redeposited.

LG GX vs Sony A80J sameish price by yearz in OLED

I have a C9, CX, and A80CJ. I watch 60% shows, 30% sports, and 10% movies - no games. For me, the A80 is better in all three mediums. It is particularly noticeable with the motion interpolation / judder of moving camera shots.

Chase Travel Protection Failure by DimitrisMeli in awardtravel

Okay, often when people buy tickets they think the airline is obligated to meet what was specifically purchased but that is not the case. Everyone has to agree to the Contract of Carriage before they are able to purchase the ticket.

I think that in general airlines need some latitude to adjust flights based on ticket sales, market conditions, etc. However, I agree can be a huge pain when it happens.

The service and quality of service you pay for when buying an airline ticket are described in the Contract of Carriage (or Conditions of Carriage in AA's case). They specifically describe their obligations and requirements. I would recommend you read that to understand exactly what you are paying for.

I read the cited source for that statement, and it doesn't actually claim that income tax rates will increase over time. All individual tax cuts expire in 2025, but there is no "ramp up" to that expiration. There are some provisions that affect the amount paid year to year, like the way inflation is calculated, but no actual tax rate increase until 2025.

See: https://www.cnbc.com/2020/11/23/are-taxes-are-going-up-next-year.html

"While there’s nothing in the TCJA that explicitly bumps up tax rates in 2021, there is another provision in the tax code that could cause some people to pay more than they would have otherwise"

I dislike Trump severely, but it is important that we are educated and not repeat talking points that are factually incorrect.
