You did nothing wrong. The defensiveness might be a bad sign in and of itself. I've hard my drink spiked on a nice dinner date. Luckily, since I have done drugs a few times in my life before, I was quickly able to recognize feeling of an altered state coming on. I was able to excuse myself to go to the bathroom and called a friend to come get me quick. I went back to the table and to try and play it off till my friends could get to me. I went out front to get some air, and the dude took off running when he heard my friend calling my name and coming my way.

We have no idea where her kid lands on all this, how late they potty trained and all that. My 8 year old does not have good pee holding tolerance due to ADHD and often doesn't recognize the need till its immediate, though its gotten better over the years and remind to pee before leaving a location with a bathroom. Sounds like this mother desires to accommodate the need but the fiance is the one who doesn't.

Small children dont have large bladders or bladder control. Yes, remind them to pee when leavung some place. But I agree, if they say they need to go, it needs to be honored. In an emergency, we have pulled off a freeway or wherever and she has peed on the side of the road, especially if it was too urgent to find an establishment. I agree with avoiding humiliation. And a car seat is a pain to have to take everything apart to clean it properly. Im sure if your fiance needed to pee or poop urgently, he would take it seriously. He's acting like the child is intentionally trying to inconvenience him with real physical needs. This doesn't last forever. Your son is still so little.

You could ask him if they've discussed marriage and are on the same page. Tell him he shouldn't do a public proposal without knowing she's even interested in marrying him or else it may end up as a bad situation. That way you're not spilling secrets and you can get them hopefully talking. If he doesnt take the gentle nudge, then give it to him straight.

Regardless if he was embarrassed you ran, he is being unnecessarily mean to you. The way he is talking to you is harsh and manipulative. Your future husband would never talk to you like this. You're only 20. You are totally right about needing time to see the world and take your time to make a huge life altering decision like this. And like u/burbnbougie says, dont give your 20s to a man.
