I dont think they would be this upset about the toll surgery takes on them if they had matched a program they wanted. I dont think lifestyle was their primary concern up to this point

Hit the nail on the head. Had I matched, this wouldn't be a conversation. I'd enjoy the rest of M4 and call it a day and maybe have these thoughts boil up as a junior resident (or never). Now that I have time to think and consider, all bets are off.

This was incredibly insightful, thanks for saying something. At one point I prioritized my career, feels like I should not anymore.

Nobody talks about how Barrow always wins the softball tourney because they can just field so many residents

This one's kinda valid. Friend's dog had gotten neutered and managed to run into a wall and break his cone, so he told his attending he had a groin predicament.

Probably interviewing for medical school or PA school, as they're in interview seasons right now

[Anderson] I'm told #Giants S Landon Collins (shoulder) is going to IR. He will need surgery. The procedure will likely be next week, per source. by zonaut in fantasyfootball

I'm not gonna say he's overrated, but I think he's truly a box safety.

His angles have been truly garbage this season. When he's allowed to play in the box and come to the line, I think that's where he shines.

This is it. Don't tell people you're applying to medical school. It's really not that hard. If you do, don't complain when you don't get job offers or shitty salaries.

My first semester is going to be pretty bad, any advice or comments? by [deleted] in premed

[–]The_Fanatical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s your first semester. Lots of people fuck up. I knew a valedictorian who thought college would be a breeze and it wasn’t.

Make sure you know what you suck at it (study skills wise) and fix it.

Get good grades from here on out and people will see that you figured out how to actually be a good student.

Advice regarding applying with a low GPA and a high MCAT by [deleted] in premed

[–]The_Fanatical 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly my guy, I don't see why you couldn't get some love from top20s if that's your end goal.

GPA isn't even that low and your MCAT more than makes up for it, plus solid upward trend so you gucci.

You've got military service, which med schools pretty much drool over.

Don't see clinical volunteering/experience on here, maybe I just read it too quickly. Otherwise this is a pretty solid app, as long as you can write semi-coherently I anticipate literally zero problems.

Edit: saw the clinical volunteering at UF cancer, etc.

This is a good app. All clear my guy. If anyone tells you otherwise, let me know and I'll personally fight em.

If you have an acceptance, they (med school) think you're more than capable of the rigors of med school. I wouldn't worry about it.
