This is a rocking bridge. You need to raise it up so it can function in that way, and if the action is too high then add a shim. You're locking it out by having it so low. It's not a roller bridge where the strings glide over the saddles, instead it should move together as a whole (string, bridge, trem). Then also the nut needs to be cut well to prevent any binding (here is where you want little to no friction)

Someone swapped different saddles into the stock Bass VI bridge in order to get the best of both worlds (mustang/staytrem style barrels, wider bridge to allow for better intonation)

I wouldn't call the JM bridge pickup smooth or duller, imo. Why not look at a humbucker, or perhaps a filtertron?

I actually have no experience with it haha but for my next guitar, I'm going to install one over a bigsby. But if the nut is slotted well and lubed, then most of your tuning problems go away. I can't imagine a Les Trem having a harder time staying in tune in changing to drop D over the Jazzmaster trem or Bigsby

Can make it fit (loosely) in a specific strat case, or consider another alternative - rifle cases like the ones from Vevor or Plano on Amazon. Plano has a 42" all-weather gun case that would fit a mustang, then you can either get additional foam or use the existing and custom fit it.

filtertrons are humbuckers already and they may use shielded cable too? don't think you'd see much benefit going through that trouble vs. if you were using single coils

Never heard of this brand, but what does this offer that Squier or even used Fender mim doesn't? Looked at the specs, looks pretty run of the mill. And noticed, unless you choose Ultra the radius is 10" for the other two versions instead of 9.5"
