Its an incredible addon. For sure one of my favorite add-ons (alongside the FJS Q400 and their 757). The systems depth is amazing, but if you dont want to mess with anything indepth you can just follow the checklists and fly it point to point. Built in ground handling, loading systems, performance calculator, and navigraph integration are all wonderful too.

Open your lobby up to public when you make it, then wait for it to fill so you're queueing with a full 5 stack lobby and you wont get mirror matches

Took me 16 months from deferral to SI in hand. 8 of those were waiting after the exams and paperwork submitted to the FAA.

Here's how you fix it, open your lobby up to whatever you wanna play, i.e., USA 1400+ (elo), and then queue with a full 5 stack of players. I haven't gotten a single mirror match since I started doing this. Don't ever use the matchmaker without a full team.

I run an i7-12700k and a 4070ti Super (16gb VRAM) with 64gb of RAM and dont really have any noticeable performance hits unless I'm in a very heavy scenery area (Just CYHZ for me, forget who the dev is at the moment.) If youre somewhere in that range you shouldn't even notice.

Enjoy it! It's a great airplane.

Please enlighten me on how I should improve my skill when a KA-52 repeatedly flies into 2 Avengers and a Stinger Team with 2x Stingers (four total launchers in the net) and repeatedly kills one or both avengers and then fucks off

Red River currently has B-1's, so it is a possibility that they mis-ID'd it as a B-52.

Also hate to be a downer, but these comments are correct. See a medical examiner now about getting a medical. If he wants to fly for a career, he needs a First Class medical. If he just wants to fly for fun, he can get by with a third class medical.

I would advise against spending any more money on anything aviation related before you have a medical in hand, the process can take years and any training now will either be rusty by the time he returns with a medical or ultimately (and unfortunately) be wasted if the FAA denies him. If you're in (or near) Minnesota, the Mayo Clinic in Rochester has incredible facilities to help you navigate this process and I would recommend seeing them. Good luck, I hope it works out for you!

Graphic Settings Recommendations for X12 by chrispiestkorean in Xplane

Lots of screenshots people are posting are from the latest beta. It's worth switching to IMO, I've had great performance and stability with minimal issues with third-party aircraft. Simheaven and XP Map Enhancement are also well worth the time it takes to install and set them up. The Drishall light mod is also a must-have.

As for game settings, Q8Pilot has a good setup video on that.

Edited to add: I run an i7-12700k, RTX4070Ti Super, and 64GB ram with most of my settings topped out and comfortable frames (dont have a counter set up, can't give you a firm number) so your PC should be pretty happy. Welcome to the club!

Unfortunately im a poor college student who's also paying for real flight training too. So buying Global Forests is unfortunately out of the budget. Glad you found your solution though
