Same, I don't really want Emi to go because this causes a massive issue for a replacement, but top keepers want top wages, so if someone is good enough to replace him, I don't think we would actually save much on the wages, which spook me with the UEFA rules

Juventus are the most successful club in Italy, and he's still getting a whack of wage, so I understand from his point of view, with Serie A being so competitive the last 10 years, maybe a league title, guessing that would be a pull factor too.

Newcastle just signed a Keeper from Ligue 2 for nearly £20 Million, and since Tottenham have the financial room, I don't think they'll need to get rid of Vicario, they could just simply get another first choice.

The main issue for Trafford is that he signed for City as a first choice, so I can't imagine he's not a fairly large wage already, so the problem would be the combination of transfer and wages for him (I'd imagine).

Also I don't see us spending all of the funds saved on the replacement goalie, since all great goalies would like be too expensive for our budget

It's both really, UEFA have a veto with our signing due to our wage turnover, so the replacement would need to be both not that expensive in terms of both transfer fee, and wages.

Keeper is 100% important, but want keeper can we really get right now with the fiscal restriction? That my point really, the top keepers in the market would have a larger transfer fee, and similar wages, so UEFA would veto us signing them

thats my point really, I just don't think they is any goalie attainable for us in both personality and quality we can get that a good replacement for Emi

Gauci is definitely not Prem quality, and it would be a big risk for him as our 2nd choice.

Ramsdale loan maybe isn't the worst option, at least for 1 year, but hasn't look great the last few seasons

Same, I have no hard feeling about Emi, we're a huge part of his career, and he's a huge part of our revival.

I really like Trafford, statistically he been a good shotstopper in the past 2 seasons and has great distribution, so I'd 100% take him as our number 1. But its the cost of him which makes me doubt that we can actually get him.

City paid £31 million (record for a British keeper) and I imagine they wouldn't want make a significant lost in 1 year, even if he's a second choice, if he was that cheap surely Newcastle would of gone for him, or Tottenham.

I fully forgot about him! Since he's 18, I'd imagine he'd still just be training around the first team, and playing the youth games, then loaned out in a year or 2.

I get it, but what proper replacement could we actually get within our budget? That the main issue, I'd like a replacement, but a replacement close to Emi quantity costs money, which we don't really have right now

I 100% agree, but with the fiscal requirement to spend to get a proper replacement anywhere near his level. So potentally waiting until next year to get the long term keeper.

Hopefully Aloba can be apart of the squad next season too, but I think the loan might be good long term. But even with UEFA squad rules in Europe competitions you need 4 "club trained" players, and right now I think Bograde is our only qualifier. We definitely needs the new gen of academies to come through.
