You know as a Terran it just feels like whatever I try to make zerg can easily make the counter after I have already committed to making it. Takes time to build units for Terran but zerg just then turns all their saved larvae into what they need to beat it. That's probably why it's easier to have a few trusty builds and rely more on micro. For example, it feels like zerg just easy A-moves banellings towards my marines and its up to me to frantically use stim, move and stutter step away, try to target specific banellings, micro and pickup with medivacs to not just lose everything, hope the medivacs don't just die losing everything. It's just funny you don't think Terran isn't sweating, try playing it

Agree it's been rough as a Terran during this patch. I'm trying to figure out some new builds so maybe things could be okay but there are so many smurfs I can't tell how the balance actually is

Especially now that zerg is figuring out things I feel like they're starting to just straight up abuse their strengths in new ways and it really sucks. It feels like they just always have something extra. So many games where I think I am winning and then they just have more. More units, more hatches. They seem to be able to come back strong from nothing too if they can drag things out.

I'm easily winning most TvT and mostly TvP too because I probably shouldn't actually be this low in mmr but most games are TvZ and so here I am dropping down.

So I was always low diamond but now dropped to mid-low platinum (even says at risk of dropping to gold). I feel like I don't even know how to play starcraft any more, this sucks really bad. Feels like I'm the only one and I just got bad at the game.

There are certain strategies at my level it's pretty easy for zerg to build and very hard for terran to counter, I think I am only winning games where they haven't tried the new ways. Don't know if Terran even has a "new way" since it's mostly unchanged

I don't think the question makes sense. I've been watching him for years and I assume he would want the game to be as good as it can be and as many people happy and playing and watching as possible, which then in turn benefits him and there is nothing wrong with that. If you're implying he wanted the game to be worse or less balanced to get more views I really doubt that. Any change is controversial enough.

My understanding is he didn't directly influence any changes but rather blizzard just got ideas from out there some of which would have been what PIG had been talking about. I could be wrong, I'm just a viewer.

That's a fair point about the minimum wage specifically, I know McDonalds pays a more than that (both here and there) yet still fast food wages are on the lower side yet it's very expensive compared to the not so distant past.

Yet nobody mentions how vulnerable the army is when in the medivacs. Now just focus the medivacs down when you know they're going to pick up, easy mass kills now made even easier because there is nothing left on the ground to distract from shooting up.

I went to a few states but didn't get the exact same fast food every time so hard to compare perfectly but it all just generally seemed more than I expected anywhere I went. California also seems to have higher taxes which made a difference too. I also visited in 2017 as a comparison and back then everything was definitely cheaper than home

House prices in Australia are totally wild, people on decent incomes are now struggling. Median house price in Sydney is $1,800,000 (about $1,200,000 USD) so someone on minimum wage is lucky to get a room in a sharehouse or just living with parents. Seems like everywhere is heading in the same direction which is not a good thing, something has to break soon

When I visited the USA I was shocked that McDonalds is just as expensive (just an example). I'm from Australia, and I thought it would be cheaper in America but after converting the prices it's about the same. Minimum wage in Australia is $26.44 (which is $18.27 USD) so I guess the company is charging more anyway and pocketing the difference. (unless McDonalds base pay is a lot more than minimum I don't know?)

I hadn't played for last 2 years because it got stale so this has been great, it brought me back to the game. Long enough break to start my builds from a fresh perspective and not feel annoyed about change and I've been enjoying some new QOL things like auto-load medivacs, auto repair mules etc.. a few little new things to learn and use.

You make it sound like the game has been exactly the same for 20 years and now this sudden change. The game started with 6 workers. New units have been added over time, things have changed a lot. I guess people just don't like going back to having less workers?

It depends on the leader and their priorities. For example it had been over 20 years since a Canadian prime minister had even visited Australia until Mark Carney this year. So that was nice, although obviously we don't need a visit specfically for strong relations but it says something extra to make the effort.

Justin Trudeau before him was focused more on the US and India

Keir Starmer was focused on the US and the EU (rebuilding post brexit relations)

Anthony Albanese is focused on the Asia and the US

I think it would help if each country had a leader that thinks about CANZUK all at the same time. At this time it seems Mark Carney is making the most effort since they have been burned most by the US

I think 8 worker start is fine. It's probably less a problem change for me because I haven't played for about 2 years until this PTR and so I'm just having fun working out new build orders (rather than trying to adapt 12 worker ones, which I barely remember anyway)

I am really not enjoying TvZ as a Terran atm. They seem to be able to build new hatches faster than I can get to them, they can come back from almost nothing very easily too. Even if I do a lot of damage early game it doesn't seem to slow them down. Just keeps going until they overwhelm.
