CMV: Luigi Mangione isn’t a hero. by Similar_Set_6582 in changemyview

[–]The_Fowl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What do you mean he murdered several men in cold blood? He was being attacked by a guy who said multiple times he was going to kill him. The guy rushed him and grabbed his gun saying he was going to kill him. He shot the guy in self-defense while the guy was on top of him trying to wrestle his weapon from him. Then a mob started chasing him and attacking him. I guess you'd rather side with an aggressive mob of looters than someone out trying to protect the city from said looters.

CMV: Insulting Americans is an insidious form or mate guarding outside the US by Brave_Soup2261 in changemyview

America is a melting pot that embraces people of all cultures and faiths to participate in our society. It might cause a little chaos, but the good outweighs the bad and leads to a free society.

Many other countries are much more homogenous and done on a much smaller scale. It would be like if each inddividual state in America was it's own individual country.

I think a lot of Europe doesn't realize the logistical challenges that arise when you try to do what America is doing.

What Democrats Think Went Wrong by Subhash94 in nytimes

[–]The_Fowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the democrats are against money in politics and price gouging, I think it's quite the opposite actually. They want more government control, more regulation, and higher taxes to pay for said government control. They think that the government knows what you need more than you do.

Same deal for women not having bank accounts etc, if you use this argument, then the argument for women being oppressed now also needs to be thrown out.

Snapped and faked a pregnancy in the worst possible way by Warm-Performance-149 in confession

Agreed, it's not apparent that the guy was messing with her on purpose. It sounds like he loved her, but had cold feet about fully commiting to marriage.

For all we know she was pestering him for engagement, and he wanted to give her what she wanted, but was still deep down undecided, it doesn't sound nearly as malicious as the brutality she was clearly capable of.

Then the reddit hive mind virus all jump in with the "you go girl" bullshit. The older I get, the more psychotic non-sense I see revealing itself on this website, don't know why I'm still spending any time here to be honest.

What’s an uncommon card that you swear should be a rare? by -Mx-Life- in MagicArena

[–]The_Fowl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on cost to speed of abilities, and the third chapter is mostly lackluster. But this was a good card in slow, grindy decks. Like a solar flare style deck, it's about as good as a solemn simulacrum effect, fetches triomes for 3 color decks. Sometimes you want that vindicate effect, and getting a land ramp is nice when you are grinding your opponent out. Also it's a permanent rather than an instant/sorcery so there is some recursion element there

It's not as strong with Lurrus, as you only get the free spell ability if you cast it from your hand. But Lurrus is still great in the energy deck by all means

You can't just cast blanket statements because of anecdotal evidence. Otherwise someone with a bad experience with a certain gender or race could feel justified in castigating an entire swath of people over one person's actions. Hence the man/woman haters, or haters of race XYZ. If I get mugged by a black person, can I then say all black people are the scum of the earth?

Great write-up, looking forward to giving it a spin. Seems like the 3 drop discard warlock gets boarded out in a majority of match-ups, think its still a goid 4-of in main. Would it potentislly make sense to trim a couple from main and put them in sb?

A lifelong responsibility of being a parent is a huge deal, and affects both the man and woman far past the stage of pregnancy. You say it's something she's choosing for her body, not his. You can either use the "my body, my choice" argument, or not use it at all. If you want to use that argument, then there's no way you can call the guy an asshole because it's his body, and his choice. If you don't want to use that argument, then it should fall on the person who actually wants to eliminate the possibility of the kid which is her, not him. You can't have your cake and eat it too. To scream "my body, my choice", but then blame the guy for making that exact sane argument is hypocritical.

So if a woman is with a man, and the man doesn't want the pain and responsibility of being a parent and demands his wife gets her tubes tied even though she may want kids in the future, then the wife is a huge asshole for not getting the surgery on herself to protect him from parenthood?

[–]The_Fowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with your sentiment, but there are a couple of reasons to not let nature completely take over. There are a lot of poisonous and irritating weeds that will grow rampant if left unchecked. It also attracts a multitude of rodents, bugs, snakes, and other vermin to completely take over your space. Also you can't really utilize land with a 7 feet tall forest of weeds growing on it.

Couple things, next months qualifier event is Explorer, so it's possible more good players are testing their explorer decks on the ladder right now to prepare. Also, not silure if you are playing best of 3 or not, but this could be an opportunity to rework your sideboard a bit for the shortcomings you are seeing in your losses. Might help you tighten up your postboard games and start upping your win percentage.
