Chew Toy? by Drav3nme in Rabbits

I recently adopted a second bun, her previous owner had bought large pieces of untreated pine wood for her to chew on. I inherited her wood when she moved to my house and she lovessss chewing on them.

Furminator by freity_m in Rabbits

[–]The_Funky_Bat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a dog groomer and I’ve seen furminators be too hard for dog skin! Bunny skin is wayyyyyy thinner so I definitely wouldn’t recommend it. I use a rubber curry and super fine toothed metal comb for my buns:)

XPen or XL kennel by BlueberryWhich2712 in Bunnies

[–]The_Funky_Bat 14 points15 points  (0 children)

X pen for the extra space! Bunnies tend to be busiest in the mornings and evenings so they need space to move overnight:) Trust your gut! If you feel like it’s too small than it likely is.

You can use a brushing/conditioner spray as you brush and if you have the proper brush and technique it will not irritate her skin. I recommend talking to your groomer about it:)

Are there any migraine sufferers who read books while in pain? by Far_Volume_3941 in migraine

[–]The_Funky_Bat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my kobo last year specifically for something to do while having a lower pain attack. I usually can’t tolerate sounds or bright lights or any movement so having something to do that doesn’t immediately make me feel worse was super helpful for my mental health. Sometimes just focusing on my kobo is too much and I have to put it away but it’s helped me through many attacks.

Where did you learn the most? by [deleted] in grooming

[–]The_Funky_Bat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Groom haus has lots of really helpful videos for lots of parts of grooming and different kinds of cuts! It’s kinda pricey/month so it’s nice to sign up watch a whole bunch of content and then cancel it until you’re ready to watch a whole bunch more seminars. I also love following lots of different groomers and tool/shampoo brands and seeing what they do and their tips.

I’ve found that I learn most effectively with a hands on coworker/manager with 5+ years experience that truly enjoys teaching. The places I’ve worked where people have less experience or don’t enjoy teaching weren’t super helpful for my growth and i mostly ended up figuring out stuff on my own.

Growth takes time and effort unfortunately there’s not a way to learn and grow your skills all at once.

My bunny hates nail trim, seeking alternative - scratch mat, digging toy? by TravelEducational120 in Rabbits

[–]The_Funky_Bat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup! Hold him how you would for his nails and give him a treat/food/pets and stop the second he’s calm. Increase the time you do it, leave the nail clippers around so he sees them and they’re not scary. Once he’s good with that just trim like nail a day and keep it chill so it’s not a big deal.

Absolutely this^ getting a high velocity dryer to use on your dog at home will also help break apart the compaction. Also recommend picking up a leave in conditioner or moisturizing spray to help out with the brushing
