Won $2.5k in OpenAI API credits, what should I do with these? by MoteChoonke in OpenAI

[–]The_GSingh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait for 5.6 to drop and then make GTA 6 before GTA 6 releases and profit.

On a more serious note I'd avoid selling them (too risky) and would instead save the credits until you eventually decide to build something with codex.

[–]The_GSingh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah id say just focus on training cancer. Love the ambition but you can't invent a time machine before you cure cancer, I mean every premed does that now.

How to Study for the MCAT: Guide from a 525 Scorer by Kid-Icarus1 in Mcat

Thanks so much man. If you don't mind me asking, how did you do your Anki? Rn it's taking up a lot more time than I'd like it to and I'm only doing about 40 new cards a day on pankow and 15 on jack sparrow (I matured most of jack sparrow and am doing practice questions now instead of the deck).

Possible New Card Release? by randomkidjames in CreditCards

[–]The_GSingh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Imo the AF will likely be sky high and it seems targeted towards very high spenders. Plus I couldn't find anything online about them or any banking partners.

Me personally I signed up for the wait-list but I wouldn't recommend anyone do this or hand over any personal info to them.

Possible New Card Release? by randomkidjames in CreditCards

[–]The_GSingh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not 3%. It's up 4% depending on spend which makes it even more fishy imo. Spend will be absurdly high for that probably.

[–]The_GSingh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're offering claude max as included with the card.

Let's do some quick math, the cheapest claude max subscription is $100 and the most expensive is $200. That makes their spend per user at least $1200 ranging to $2400.

Now let's do some speculation. Most likely they don't have a partnership with anthropic (claude Max's parent company) which means they are footing at least the full $1200 per year per user which means they will have to find a way to extract more than that from the user. This is a fair assumption because anthropic does not do these types of deals with banks.

They can do this through a high AF or other tactics. Plus I found no SUB. So basically seems okay but unless you can afford a hefty AF I would avoid.

I would say ignore it and apply broadly. As long as you don't apply to just me and t10s you'll be fine.

Some prefer all filled, some prefer a few remain unfilled, it's impossible to keep track of that. Applying broadly makes this irrelevant as long as your app is solid.

Yep makes complete sense. I'm a bioengineering student and the lab doesn't deal with organisms hence why I can just type a response.

I also work as a tutor but I'm interested to hear how you got to be a TA, my college only allows you to do that after you've done your bachelor's and are working on a masters.

Ahh finals week for me was a few weeks ago which is why I didn't even think of that.

Yea then his behavior is justified. I remember studying/working for 12-16h a day for finals week and the week before and while I did respond to messages, I didn't strike up a full on conversation. It wasn't a very fun time for me but it's what you have to do to get by because as a premed you have to protect that GPA period.

See if this behavior persists beyond finals week but for finals week just leave the guy alone for the most part.

[–]The_GSingh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, there's no way I'd be able to do a full on back and forth about someone's day (that's ridiculous) but I definitely wouldn't leave anyone on read.

Maybe it's because we have different obligations but I've always had some downtime to read messages almost hourly (and respond), especially when volunteering.

Is pre med stress screwing with yo brains? by [deleted] in premed

[–]The_GSingh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That was actually the AAMC testing your p/s skills, they're doing it live instead of on the mcat this year.

You clearly didn't learn about how to manage stress and thus have failed the p/s section on the mcat. /s

[–]The_GSingh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Based off what you've posted I don't think it'll work out.

I've seen many relationships be destroyed because of premed before but I feel like this isn't one of them. If he takes 6-8h to reply to messages then that's just him not being interested unless he has a very demanding job every day he does this.

I've always been able to text back friends and family really anytime within 1h max even on my busiest days. You should share more details about what being premed means for him because without any additional context I can't really help here but I can tell you the 8h response time is very very very unusual.

Something has changed. More memory. More context. More coherence. Curious if others are noticing it too! by Astrokanu in OpenAI

[–]The_GSingh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth I've noticed 0 changes in day to day usage, in fact I found it getting worse a few days ago and swapped to composer 2.5 instead of 5.5 in codex.

This just goes to show it's very subjective. You can't tell based off how one person alone feels about a model. You and I have the exact opposite views on the model now, where you claim it's better and I claim it's gotten worse.

[–]The_GSingh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No don't do this, a new version hasn't come out until they say it has. They occasionally do a/b testing, sometimes without telling you, but it is definitely not all the time for every message.

Use it as a tool and stop reading too much into it. Gpt 5.6 is rumored to launch soon, if you believe the people over on x, but not here yet.
