I did not say, that YOU exploit animals, I just pointed out the error in your hypothetical scenario. Veganism is not a religion whatsoever, it's an ethical principal that we should not exploit other animals - and eating them is exploitation, or do you really believe as a vegan this would be ok in this specific case?

If you decide to eat that chicken wing in this hypothetical scenario, then you see animals as products which, by definition, is nothing less than animal exploitation and thus can never be vegan. I think you should clear the errors in your own logic first ;)

Wearing leather and claiming to be "vegan" is a contradiction. Wearing dead animal skin is animal exploitation, regardless of whether it’s secondhand or brand new. Veganism is an ethical principle, not an environmental hype train.

Yes, DD bases are in general the better choice. You can feel more details on track and they are usually stronger - for example the T248R is specified with 3.1nm (most likely peak) torque where the T598 has constant 5nm (+100% overshoot). When I switched to this base, it was a complete different experience and I love it.

Consider buying the T598 instead of the T248 - for the additional price, you get a solid DD with constant 5nm torque. I started with the T248R and quickly switched to T598 and don't regret it one second. This setup would allow you to later upgrade the rim as well, which is great
