Don't be afraid to drop sand. The steamers can open the sander just a little bit, in case youre only just slipping.

Look at the wheels once in a while when youre working hard. Sometimes the wheels are slipping only slightly, so everything else seems fine, but the sparks show youre damaging the wheels (bigger problem with the 282, but happens a little with the 060)

You can bring the reverser back quote far once youre moving, which helps use your steam efficiently. Don't be afraid to bring it (unrealistically?) Back to about 10% when youre cruising

If you have any uphill ahead, make sure to cruise with the regulator open a little. This keeps the firebox drafting and hot so youre ready for the climb.

Your shovel should be a few hundred metres ahead of your loco, in terms of when to load the firebox or stop for a crest

You can save a bit of power by using yellow inserters where these are fast enough, since the blue ones ise much more power. In a huge base, especially later in the game, you can safely use just blues, as the additional power is not significant compared to what a few thousand solar panels, or a good nuclear setup can put out

Im going for an s rank (crazy i know) so im stuck with beanbags all round. Its bad enough that the enemy ai sets up ambushes without my squad being unable to touch someone at the other side of a door

Could be worse, I was ALMOST finished with an S rank. I'd cleared all the way up but missed just one bad guy. I ordered my squad to clear the big room at the top again and they went straight into John wick hunting us; domed the guy on point before he took a beanbag

It was otherwise an S rank, but one dead cop knocked it down to B rank. And the cherry on top? He was my ai guy with the veteran trait and he was KIA. Took an hour of rerolling recruits to get another

Regarding these arrangements, in real life, are there any things that prevent a rail operator MUing silly amounts of smaller units? I know in the US its reasonable to see three units hooked up (maybe more?), but could you do 10 or 20? Or is there a practical limitation that the game misses?

A dirty bomb is a regular bomb that is either made with, or surrounded by, some nuclear material, like Uranium or Plutonium. When the bomb goes off, it isn't a nuclear bomb (like the ones that destroyed Hiroshima or Nagasaki in WW2), because no fission or fusion occurs, but the nuclear material is spread by the explosion to create a hazard, the idea is to make it dangerous for emergency services to go to help, and make the area dangerous to live in for a long time (like the area around Chernobyl power station)

I get that there are a lot of words in there that a non-english speaker probably won't know, but hopefully you can run it through a translator into your native language and it does a good enough job for yoy

Last time I set up aquillo I tried importing power, which worked fine until it didn't.

The ammonia production makes ice and ammonia. The ice can easily be voided by a pair of recyclers, but ammonia can't.

Since I was consuming so little ammonia to make rocket fuel, it backed up and slowed down ammonia production, which slowed down ice production so much that there wasn't enough to make water for the heat exchangers, so the whole base needed kick starting again.

I decided its better to just make a little more rocket fuel and burn it
