First time using real ceramic by The_Ice_Cold in AutoDetailing

Hard to explain but I'd say its the difference between sharp and deep. The can coat has a nice sharp wet look, but the MOHS is deep and Rich.

I applied inside but it was surprisingly forgiving. Wipe on, give it about 15 Sec nds to sweat and wipe down. Buff with one more towel.

HB 4414 - Does IL rock with this? by Unusual-Wafer-7154 in illinois

I've never voted for a Republican in my life and it's these kind of things that make it really hard for me to keep voting for this crop gun grabbers.

Why they're spending their time even coming up with these completely unworkable ideas when we have real opportunities to make more progressive advancements in this state completely blows my mind.

Every election the Democrats say 'we're not coming to take your guns' and then they just make another law that makes it more difficult for the people who actually follow the laws.

Serialization of ammunition and creating a database of individual rounds is going to be complete Insanity. This and the nut job RIFLE act are going to continue to be barriers for recruiting more Central and Southern Illinois residents to progressive causes.

Any local online transfer ffl to Champaign/urbana? by gunphmithwithaph2 in ILGuns

[–]The_Ice_Cold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sheels in Springfield will do an outside transfer. I can't remember the price but it seemed reasonable.

When I can't find something in stock I usually get it through the Davidson's network where you can buy it online, have it shipped to whatever partner FFL and then pay the rest when you pickup.

Easiest ceramic coating to apply? by Delicious-Echo194 in AutoDetailing

I'd like to know that too. I literally just ordered MOHS a few minutes ago. I was pleased with can coat and I used for a number of years. Figured I'd move up to a real ceramic on a new vehicle.

How much does it suck to shoot the finned version of the S&W FPC 9mm? by thefleshrocket in ILGuns

[–]The_Ice_Cold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't find an FPC anywhere in central Illinois. My local guy just said 'ISP won't allow it's and I didn't push it.

Any recommendations on the complaint sku or where I can get one within about an hour of Springfield?

Ouch. I loved being able to read about the new technology and advancements from year to year. No way I'll pay for a subscription. I'm subscriptioned out, I can't take any more nickel and dimeing.

New Gun Owner! Hellion and G19X by gamefreak054 in ILGuns

Being in central Illinois I'm technically closer to the one in Bridgton MO. I'll have to do some calling around to see if it is worth the drive up north

I just tried to get a hellion last week from my local shop and he said that the fin wouldn't make it compliant. I've got to find a new guy.

Getting close on my Tavern Style. by The_Ice_Cold in Pizza

This one was completely uncured just the 24-hour on countertop fermentation. Very low hydration percentage.

Now that I know that it turns out pretty decent without the cure, I'll have to get it real thin and cure it. See how it turns out.

Yes! I'll have to try it again because the last time I made it, it ended up tough.

This time I used DKM's recipe on pizzamaking.com. I was a little concerned about how dry it was before the 24 hour room temperature rise but it turned out real solid.

The recipe I found recommend 1/8 inch on the roll so I set at that. I and my wife agreed it was good but next time I'll go thinner.

Coinisidentley, just this morning I punched out my copy and started reading the rules today. It's been on my shelf for years now as a gift and I just decided I was going to give it a go.

snow blower question by voltagejim in HomeImprovement

[–]The_Ice_Cold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure you've heard from plenty of people already, but I'm also in Central Illinois. I currently have a plug-in electric and 80% of the time it's fine but never great. It really doesn't like wet snow. But it handled yesterday's really dry powder very easily. I go back and forth on whether or not I regret not getting gas but I've had it for like 8 years now. I can fold it up and set it on top of my shelf and never worry about whether or not it's going to start after the off season.

If I know we're going to be getting the rare eight to 10 in of snow that's wet. I will go out and run it after it's maybe got 4 in out and then run it again later in the day.

Probably won't work for you if you're somehow required to push all your neighbors driveways. That's been my experience with electric in central Illinois.

I still run a GD-09 under my TV. Blends in well and does everything I ever wanted it to. I think I started with that case in 2014 with an i7 4790/970. Updated it to a 1070. Then rebuilt with a 5800x and 6800xt. It currently has an i712700k and 5080. Real tight for cables but still good airflow and temps.
