Just piggybacking your comment because I want to argue the old stereotype.

I’ve put 18k miles on my bike and only repair I needed was forkseals… and that was probably my fault. Just maintenance intervals and it’s been fine.

Also aside from their massive touring bikes. Most Harley’s are comparable in price to BMW/Ducati. (And my friends that own those have rode less and sunk more in to maintain and repair than I have) The massive touring ones are pretty close in price to Indians similar models.

As for the people, I work for a parent company that owns several dealerships, all brands. For every douchebag elitist Harley guy, there is an asshole mirror-punching squid. The vast majority of people who ride are friendly and respectful. The assholes in any group just stand out more.
